Education Secretary Betsy DeVos spent her wealth issuing corruption throughout Michigan while destroying the Middle Class.

October 7, 2017
By Jennifer Berkshire

...Michigan went right-to-work in 2012, (click here) thanks to legislation that was ushered into the former cradle of industrial unionism via the DeVos’ trademark combo of political arm twisting and largesse. Another DeVos-inspired law made it illegal for employers, including school districts, to process union dues, while simultaneously making it easier for corporations to deduct PAC money from employee paychecks. This summer the DeVoses succeeded in driving a final nail into the MEA’s coffin. The GOP-controlled legislature essentially eliminated pensions, among the last tangible benefits that teachers in Michigan receive from their unions. The union leaders I spoke to when I traveled through the state last year, reporting on DeVos’ education legacy, were candid about the increasingly precarious state of their organizations. But far worse lies ahead. The demise of retirement benefits means that new teachers have little incentive to join the unions; the shrinking terrain of collective bargaining gives veteran teachers little reason to remain in them.

It boggles the mind how the feeble minded Republicans put such stock in destroying unions, when the wealth of the USA is supported by the Middle Class thriving because of unions.

Also, an alert about the so-called "strict constructionist conservatives" on the Supreme Court; they are illiterate to the sincere role of the Supreme Court as the Third Branch of government.

I recently heard an assessment of the Supreme Court's extremist conservatives. Their decisions are based in lawyering and not intellect. The statement was to bring to light the way some of the conservative decisions are made based on 'the words' and not the spirit of a law. It only reflects the way Republicans legislate or don't legislate. They want their laws to be specific to the thinking of their confirmed nominees to the Supreme Court.

On the other hand and why Judge Souter was a disappointment to the Bushes, is because the 'other judges' think about the country and the impact of the law before rendering it's constitutionality or not. The decisions by the Robert's Court has, with rare exception, ruled based in lawyering and the limits the 'words of the law' provide for appropriate government power.

To the left are the demographics by the "Direct Selling Association." (click here)

Ms. DeVos is a member of the Amway dynasty, but, in recent years Amway has been floundering. Amway likes to attribute it to China. Hm, China still has a developing Middle Class. Oh, well. But, don't take it from me.

Changing a compensation plan to become more distributor friendly is almost impossible once the structure is set. I believe what was once their strength is now their Achilles Heel.

...Fact (click here) is that if any business, as in Direct Sales, declines, is not very attractive for a business builder.

Growth is what you need, momentum and a great compensation plan. Amway's official statement about the decline is: "Market conditions in China".

However, if you listen to former Amway diamonds and corporate executives, there is an other important issue: the outdated Amway's compensation plan. In some countries Amway's presence is almost already whipped out.

As one top earner point out:

"Competition is Amway’s problem. For so long they were the leader in an industry with few competitors. Today, there are thousands of companies with highly evolved and lucrative compensation plans, very favourable to distributors.

Changing products, branding, policies, marketing and other business strategies can all be done":...

Mrs. DeVos spent millions, if not billions, on buying politicians in Michigan to push through an agenda to systematically destroy unions. I can't imagine hating unions. Unions' reputation has been smeared for years as people that exploit their members for their own wealth. Well, believe it or not, unions have to compete for leadership in the same markets at other large businesses. The compensation of effective leadership is necessary.

Unions are not a scam and they build the Middle Class. They bring higher quality of life to their members which includes significant disposable income that allows Americans to own at least one house, two cars, take vacations and bring an upscale potential to any company seeking millions of households as customers. "You can't stop a Trane" is because Trane HVAC (click here) sells to more than a few large office buildings.

Collective Bargaining Agreements (click here)

Trane has nearly 10,000 union employees, that, put out an excellent product.

The American middle class, (click here) long the most affluent in the world, has lost that distinction.

While the wealthiest Americans are outpacing many of their global peers, a New York Times analysis shows that across the lower- and middle-income tiers, citizens of other advanced countries have received considerably larger raises over the last three decades.

After-tax middle-class incomes in Canada — substantially behind in 2000 — now appear to be higher than in the United States. The poor in much of Europe earn more than poor Americans.

The numbers, based on surveys conducted over the past 35 years, offer some of the most detailed publicly available comparisons for different income groups in different countries over time. They suggest that most American families are paying a steep price for high and rising income inequality....

When examining unions and their pensions, it is no wonder the American Middle Class has some of the most incredibly moral family values. They plan to have their children attend college almost as though it is not an option. They assist THE USA BRAIN TRUST to build a strong and sustainable country.

Betsy DeVos has absolutely no credentials that contribute to the well being of the USA. She wants to privatize every aspect of schools and that includes creating a LONE STRATEGY to dismantle unions in the State of Michigan as a model for the country.

Betsy DeVos is not a patriot. She is a greed hungry woman seeking the wealth of this country to create education sector CEO's dependent on the RNC. She is dangerous and irresponsible touting an ideology that will reduce the quality of the USA brain trust and set the country back to the Dark Ages.

Charter schools were never meant to replace the public sector, but, to improve it.

The USA has been betrayed and even the Trump voters know it.

Albany man captures tornado on video.

Many times the psychological effects of a traumatic (click here) event won't be erased. All these events are a loss. Victims of such natural disasters suffer PTSD. Americans spend their lives looking for a spouse, raising children, purchasing a house and investing in that house to make it a home. Then it is gone within minutes. They are truncated from the past. Their lives never really are reassembled.

Zinke and the Trump cabinet actually call this a climate?

UNISYS Water Vapor Satellite of north and west hemisphere (click here for 12 hour loop - thank you)

From west to east. I do these assessments every day regardless of any publication on this blog. This is what I see.

The jet stream is being toyed with by Earth's physics. The effects of the jet stream are mostly blunted by stagnation of the troposphere air in general. This same phenomenon occurred with Harvey, too.

Hawaii has been receiving far less turbulent air so much as been a spectator to the every increasing turbulence around the islands. The waves of Hawaii are currently 3 to 6 feet. Wind is about 7 mph at this point. About every other week Hawaii has been getting significant wind of upwards of 20 mph sustaining over 48 to 72 hours. That is not minor wind, especially when it is sustained winds.

Hurricane Nate is currently a Cat. 1 storm with expectations of becoming a Cat. 2. Nate has soaked up a considerable amount of water vapor from the ITCZ which is primarily depopulated south of Nate all the way east to Africa.

The large vortex in the Pacific is matched in the Atlantic with one at the same latitude. The Atlantic vortex is smaller in it's presentation. The Atlantic vortex is building water vapor and threatening the Azores.

The current temperature map tells the story of heat transfer when also referencing the water vapor satellite above. Earth is taking heat from the equator northeast to the arctic circle FORCING cold air down to lower latitudes in the west.

Going to try and censor Public Advisories, too, Trump? Coward! My access to the "usual" data I frequent has been faulty, for days, not just today. The scans didn't do anything.

BULLETIN
Hurricane Nate Advisory Number 13
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL AL162017
1000 AM CDT Sat Oct 07 2017
DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK
------------------------------
At 1000 AM CDT (1500 UTC), the center of Hurricane Nate was located
near latitude 26.6 North, longitude 88.4 West. Nate is moving
rapidly toward the north-northwest near 26 mph (43 km/h), and this
general motion is expected to continue through this evening. A turn
toward the north is forecast tonight, followed by a turn toward the
northeast. On the forecast track, the center of Nate will move
across the northern Gulf of Mexico today and will make landfall
along the central U.S. Gulf Coast tonight.

Reports from NOAA and Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft
indicate that maximum sustained winds have increased to near 90 mph
(150 km/h) with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected
before landfall, and Nate is forecast to be a category 2 hurricane
on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale when the center reaches
the Gulf Coast.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km),
primarily to the east of the center and tropical-storm-force winds
extend outward up to 125 miles (205 km).

The minimum central pressure estimated from the Hurricane Hunter
aircraft data is 984 mb (29.06 inches).

NOAA Water Vapor Satellite (click here for 4 hour loop - thank)

This satellite clearly shows a two rotation system. The sister system developed over west Cuba.

All US ski resorts are closed. Besides reading reports the webcams will provide the best picture of what is occurring with the mountains (at elevation). As the water vapor content of Earth moves to higher elevations, the ski resorts may receive significant powder. Once that elevation is abandoned by water vapor there won't be any alternative but to use artificial snow IF temperatures allow it.

Kindly note the two blue circles in Texas and Florida. A blue circle on the map is considered a "Type 2 Incident."

The US Forest Service is being tapped to conduct assessments of these storm-ravaged states and islands.

The letters below IMT refers to Incident Management Team. (click here) These teams are a function of the US Forest Service. The reason I draw attention to this deployment of IMTs is because they are heavily relied upon to fight wildfires. The Governors need to be aware these teams may not be available for wildfires as quickly as needed.

Hurricane Maria Puerto Rico, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). IMT 1 (McGowan) has been tasked with establishment of an incident support base for the receipt and distribution of commodities, supplies and resources. IMT 2 (Zombro) is coordinating with other agencies to plan and prioritize emergency road clearing. FDNY IMT 2 (Kane) has been tasked with assessment of damage to critical infrastructure including roads, water systems and communications.

Hurricane Maria U.S Virgin Islands, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). IMT 2 (Bird) has mobilized to St. Croix and is managing a logistical staging area for incoming responders.

Hurricane Harvey, Texas A&M Forest Service. Texas IMT 2 (Hanneman) has mobilized to College Station, TX to support recovery and mitigation efforts, surveying impacts on local fire departments and distributing donated fire equipment.

Hurricane Irma Recovery – South Florida Parks,National Park Service. IMT 2 (Foust) is overseeing site assessment, debris cleanup and emergency stabilization within national parks and monuments in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Caribbean units.

There may be a light at the end of the tunnel with wildfires and I would also like to draw attention to a house bill HR 167 (click here) which seeks to bring some discretionary monies to fire suppression activities instead of just putting out wildfires.

There have been many hearings in DC regarding the funding of the US Forest Service and the demands on it's IMTs. Nearly 50 percent and perhaps more than 50% of the funding for the US Forest Service has been spent for putting out wildfires while suppression has not been addressed. This is a self-defeating agenda. The less fire suppression there is, the more wildfires that occur. I would hope Governors would seek an understanding of this bill and help move it forward.

HR 167 should not be confused with a very destructive initiative that again puts profits before country HR 2936 (click here). HR 2936 has a very odd name for the damage it does, "Resilient Federal Forests Act of 2017."

HR 2936 is a very lengthy bill that is best explained in this article:

Western Environmental Law Center

Taos, N.M. - Tomorrow, the U.S. House of Representatives (click here) begins its consideration of HR 2936, known as the Westerman Bill after its author, Rep. Bruce Westerman (R-AR). The bill contains a cornucopia of loopholes, exemptions and categorical exclusions for environmental, judicial, and public review; and, incredibly, gives away public lands to adjacent private landowners.

The bill would be disastrous for forest health, requiring unsustainable logging, transferring endangered species authority away from the expert consulting agencies, and eliminating environmental analysis for a huge number of logging projects. The legislation also appears to revoke President Obama’s recent expansion of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, the only National Monument in the country designated specifically to protect native biodiversity.

"The Westerman Bill is breathtaking in how brazenly it seeks to destroy responsible science-based forest management in this country," said Susan Jane Brown of the Western Environmental Law Center. “This legislation is a wish list from the timber industry, and would create more controversy and legal uncertainty than the infamous 1995 Salvage Rider, which served to undermine public trust in the credibility of the federal land management agencies,” Brown explained. “Moreover, the bill is an underhanded attempt to repeal the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, which is overwhelmingly supported by the public. The timber industry that supports this legislation should be ashamed.”...

This bill attacks Tort Law and removes professional standards and all scientifically based forest management. It literally hands federal lands to private ownership and turns it's back on exploitation. It is more corrupt than Zinke's postponement of methane containment.

Our storm chasers (click here) caught some amazing weather footage in Kansas Friday.

Stephen Jones was able to capture video as a tornado touched down near Jetmore, Kansas.

Jason Cooley also shot video of a brief tornado northeast of Dodge City near Hanston and Spearville. He also encountered strong winds and absolutely beautiful shelf clouds.

In Salina, Kansas Robin Lorenson captured a spring-like storm produced amazing mammatus clouds.

Many thanks to our partners at Live Storm Media.

Just for perspective, kindly note film loop stop for 0.24 and the enormity of "the system." The entire wedge cloud can't be caught in a single camera frame. Also a film loop stop at 1:42 and the farm at the bottom of the picture.

We can do what we want to do to benefit the petroleum industry; to hell with the public.

This is pure unadulterated corruption.

The Interior Department (click here) will propose a one-year delay to methane emissions rules while it considers weakening or rescinding the oil and gas industry regulations.

The rules in question, finalized under President Barack Obama, are meant to reduce leaking, venting and flaring of planet-warming methane from drilling activity. The Trump administration is seeking to roll back the Bureau of Land Management rules as part of a wider agenda of energy sector deregulation.

The BLM "wants to avoid imposing temporary or permanent compliance costs on operators for requirements that may be rescinded or significantly revised in the near future," the Interior Department said in a document it will publish in the Federal Register on Thursday.

It is also seeking to "avoid expending scarce agency resources on implementation activities ... for such potentially transitory requirements."...

Below is a recent tornado in North Dakota oil and gas country. NORTH DAKOTA. This tornado is not new. This has been happening in the Dakota oil fields for at least the past two years.

These tornadoes are dangerous, known to harm property and lives in North Dakota and exist for one reason only, METHANE LEAKS into the air.

The researchers (click here) found that the Bakken Formation, an oil and gas field in North Dakota and Montana, is emitting roughly 2 percent of the globe's ethane. That's about 250,000 tons per year.

"Two percent might not sound like a lot, but the emissions we observed in this single region are 10 to 100 times larger than reported in inventories. They directly impact air quality across North America. And they're sufficient to explain much of the global shift in ethane concentrations," said Eric Kort, U-M assistant professor of climate and space sciences and engineering, and first author of the study published in Geophysical Research Letters.

The Bakken is part of a 200,000-square-mile basin that underlies parts of Saskatchewan and Manitoba in addition to the two U.S. states. It saw a steep increase in oil and gas activity over the past decade, powered by advances in hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, and horizontal drilling.

Between 2005 and 2014, the Bakken's oil production jumped by a factor of 3,500, and its gas production by 180. In the past two years, however, production has plateaued....

Secretary Zinke, by pandering to the petroleum industry, is putting the public in direct danger because of climate anomalies related to methane leaks and a growing greenhouse gas emissions from the USA.

An oath of office and committing to standards of ethical behavior is NOT a political decision!

The Foundation For Ethical Behavior (click here for Interior Department standards to protect the public of which Zinke is currently in violation)

Executive Order 12674

Thomas Jefferson enunciated the basic principle of public service.  "When a man assumes a public trust, he should consider himself as public property."  This sentiment has been expressed by numerous others, over time becoming the familiar principle "Public service is public trust."

To ensure public confidence in the integrity of the Federal Government, Executive Order 12674 (as amended) forms the framework for the ethical behavior required and expected of all Federal employees.  As a condition of public service, you are expected to adhere to these fundamental principles of ethical behavior:

Public service is a public trust, requiring you to place loyalty to the Constitution, the laws, and ethical principles above private gain....

It has been a busy week for me. Things are settling down.

When is Snyder going to be indicted for his role in the Flint Water Crisis? This is ridiculous. Lying in general is not illegal unless it is perjury. So far, Snyder has done little besides lie. He is directly responsible for applying a grossly bad Emergency Manager law, passed under his leadership, that has killed, maimed and caused abortions. When is he going to be held responsible for instituting genocidal methodologies in the State of Michigan. He is a racist and bigot and sees money as his savior; it is time he was indicted.

Flint — Gov. Rick Snyder (click here) knew about Flint-area outbreaks of Legionnaires' disease in December 2015, the  month before he said he found out, according to testimony Friday from one of his top aides.

Harvey Hollins III, Snyder's point man for the state's response to the Flint water crisis, revealed the information in a Flint courtroom. Hollins said he told Snyder in a phone call in December 2015, which contradicts what Snyder has said previously: that he first learned of instances of Legionnaires' disease in Flint in January 2016.

“As soon as I became aware of it, we held a press conference the next day,” Snyder said in a March 2016 interview before the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform  that was played in court.

The news conference was held on Jan. 13, 2016....

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder speaks to the media regarding the status of the Flint water crisis on January 27, 2016 at Flint City Hall in Flint. A federal state of emergency has been declared in Flint related to the city's water becoming contaminated.

Gov. Rick Snyder's (click here) point man for the state's response to the Flint water crisis said he did not brief the governor about a growing Legionnaires' outbreak in the Flint area until January of this year despite first learning about a potential problem in March 2015.
Harvey Hollins III, director of Michigan's Office of Urban and Metropolitan Initiatives, said in an interview Friday that he received an e-mail from a Department of Environmental Quality official in March about concerns over Legionnaires' disease in Genesee County. But Hollins said he told the e-mail's author, former DEQ spokesman Brad Wurfel, in a follow-up call, that there was not enough information for him to take the issue to the governor....
