If Trump is going to hand it out, he needs to be able to take it.

Archaeologists in Turkey (click here) have made a discovery that could settle a century-old debate ... and disappoint millions of children around the world.
They have unearthed what they believe to be the tomb of the original Father Christmas - St Nicholas - beneath a church in Demre, Antalya, birthplace of the fourth-century bishop....

Donald Trump seems to consider President Putin as a trusted friend.

October 4, 2017

Moscow — President Vladimir Putin (click here) said on Wednesday that a military strike against North Korea designed to destroy its nuclear and missile program might not succeed because Pyongyang could have hidden military facilities that nobody knows about.

Russia is strongly opposed to the idea of such a strike, an idea U.S. President Donald Trump has floated, favoring a mixture of diplomacy and economic incentives instead. But Putin, speaking at an energy forum in Moscow, mused on the subject on Wednesday, making it clear he had serious doubts about the military efficacy of such a move, as well as other political and moral concerns.

“Can a global strike against North Korea be launched to disarm it? Yes. Will it achieve its aim? We don’t know. Who knows what they have there and where. Nobody knows with 100 percent certainty as it’s a closed country.”
Putin said Russia had more reason than most to be concerned by Pyongyang’s missile program, saying that North Korea’s nuclear testing range was located just 124.27 miles from the Russian border.

The Russian leader also reiterated his call for diplomacy to be allowed to run its course and for all sides to dial down the bellicose rhetoric. He also said he thought Trump was listening to Russia’s views on the crisis....

I find it disconcerting the Senate committee is dismissing the Steele dossier because Mr. Steele sees no need to speak in person to any USA government body.

I think Burr is playing politics with a dossier provided by a man highly trusted in British intelligence.

Facts are facts REGARDLESS of the source. Asking for the source of facts presented in the Steele Dossier is an attempt to cast doubt on the information. It doesn't matter who the source is. If it is a fact it stands alone.

...And so, (click here) on a warm day last June, Christopher Steele, ex-Cambridge Union president, ex-M.I.6 Moscow field agent, ex-head of M.I.6’s Russia desk, ex-adviser to British Special Forces on capture-or-kill ops in Afghanistan, and a 52-year-old father with four children, a new wife, three cats, and a sprawling brick and wood suburban palace in Surry, received in a second floor office at Orbis a transatlantic call from an old client....

With the Senate Committee willing to dismiss a highly valuable dossier because their demands are not met to speak directly to Mr. Steele or known his sources causes me a great deal of pause to think Senator Burr is willing to play with the sovereign state of the USA.

The President of the USA receives a PDB everyday. It is from US intelligence. Are the PDBs provided with footnotes as to the sources of the information? If Republicans are too stubborn to act on vital information from highly respected agents to the country; that explains September 11, 2001 all to well.

The Republicans are untrustworthy with national security. They have their own agenda and it does not include the sovereignty of the country or safety of the people of the country. From where I sit based in past and current performance of Republicans it is all to obvious. I call it an incompetency.

It was amazing to me Iran would negotiate with the USA in the first place.

The USA needs to value this opportunity to invoke peace with Iran over a period of time. The Middle East has no room for aggression or rhetorical hate speech.

...July 1988 Iran and Iraq (click here) were in the midst of a war that included attacks on each other’s oil tankers in the Persian Gulf. The United States was among several countries that had warships in the area to safeguard the transport of oil. Various incidents, notably an attack on the USS Stark involving Iraq missiles in May 1987, had resulted in a revision to the U.S. rules of engagement, allowing U.S. ships in the Persian Gulf to undertake more protective measures. On July 3, 1988, the USS Vincennes, under the command of Capt. William C. Rogers III, was involved in several skirmishes with Iranian vessels. According to various reports, Rogers, who had a reputation for aggressiveness, ignored orders to change course and instead continued to pursue the enemy gunboats.

Against this background, the Iranian airliner, an Airbus A300, departed from Bandar-e ʿAbbās, Iran, at approximately 10:47 am, headed to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Crewmen aboard the Vincennesimmediately began tracking Iran Air flight 655, which had taken off from an airport used by both military and commercial aircraft. For the next several minutes, there was confusion aboard the U.S cruiser over the identity of the aircraft, which was eventually determined to be a much smaller F-14 fighter jet. After several warning calls went unheeded, the Vincennes fired two surface-to-air missiles at 10:54 am, destroying the plane and killing all those on board....

The so-called "Iran Deal" won't dissolve because it is toyed with for politics in the USA. Russia and Europe will continue their relationships with Iran while the monitoring regarding the dismantling of it's nuclear facilities go forward.

Decertifying the Iran Agreement will put the USA in a very precarious position with allies today and in the future. That should not occur.
