"...Presidents come and go, but, policies stay. The Executive Director of Human's Rights Watch, Kenneth Roth, said just a few days ago...we are seeing the rise of a new kind of leader in different countries around the world, a more authoritarian leader who sees rights not necessarily as a good thing, but, as a barrier to implement the will of the majority...."

Christian Evangelicals have missions in nearly every country around the world. They are wealthy and want their ideology to be confirmed. A hot planet with dying corals plays right into their dialogue.

Except for the few cities in Texas that are Democratic; the state is run by Christian Evangelicals. They finance all the Republican elections. The State of Texas has the highest rate of maternal deaths in the country and it just spiked this past year since the closing of the abortion clinics.

The Christian Evangelicals own the politics of the State of Texas. Now. Who owns the world? And how are they financed? The petroleum industry.

Donald Trump doesn't care and didn't care about the country, he wanted the power for his own purposes, including his family and friends' aggrandizement.

"Washington always work the same way Wall Street does."

I really got tired of hearing about Carl Icahn.

There is a reason there are many, many empty chairs in the Trump Administration and it is because of corruption not because Trump's way is better.

On Friday billionaire investor Carl Icahn (click here) left his role as regulatory adviser to Donald Trump, just before the New Yorker published an article entitled "Carl Icahn’s Failed Raid on Washington." The article detailed Carl Icahn’s potential conflicts of interest, including his heavy lobbying for a rule change about blending ethanol into gasoline, a rule which affects the profits of Icahn’s Texas-based petroleum refining company, CVR. According to the New Yorker, in the months after Trump’s election, the stock price of CVR nearly doubled, which meant Icahn’s own wealth surged, at least on paper, by a half a billion dollars. For more we speak with Tyson Slocum, director of Public Citizen’s Energy Program. In March Public Citizen asked lawmakers to investigate Carl Icahn’s actions.

All the American public heard during Trump's campaign was "Right Carl?"

Governors in the potential path of Hurricane Harvey need to alert the cities of what might be a very dangerous storm. The Gulf and the troposphere is too hot to take a chance.

Being alert is in the best interest of public safety.

Authorities should monitor Harvey carefully through the night and into early tomorrow morning to be sure to know people are safe.

That is my estimate and I am sticking to it. I don't want Harvey to be a monster the second it hits the Gulf waters and be an unexpected disaster.

Can hate dissipate? Democrats need to stick to their traditional goals and beliefs.

Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner (click here) will sign into law a bill that would protect immigrants who are in the country illegally from being detained solely because of their immigration status, according to his office.

The decision to approve the controversial legislation marks a victory for immigrant advocates and a defeat for the more conservative members of the governor's party, who had lobbied against the bill.

Rauner spokeswoman Laurel Patrick said the governor would sign the legislation Monday, but she did not say where the signing would take place.

Rauner had indicated Friday that he was supportive of the bill, noting on WBEZ-FM 91.5's "Morning Shift" that it was "supported by law enforcement, it's supported by the business community, it's supported by the immigration community."

I think the water vapor collection at the Yucatan Peninsula is the 'eye' of Harvey.

You tell me. There is a lot of energy in the troposphere. We just saw Kenneth go from a Tropical Storm to a Category 4 in the Pacific. Kenneth has dropped again in velocity. That does mean the energy in the troposphere is dissipated.

If one measures the diameter of the storm from the ridge over Texas to North Carolina to the opposite side into the Caribbean, it is a near perfect circle.

The feeder system from the Texas ridge to the Caribbean border is all beginning to move in the same direction. It is a vortex. That is my assessment.

Vice President Al Gore was absolutely correct in his first film, "An Inconvenient Truth" regarding hurricanes.

Hurricanes and Tornadoes (click here) James Elsner spoke about changing patterns in hurricanes and tornadoes. He said increasing ocean warmth was making hurricanes stronger and that tornadoes were appearing in bigger and more powerful bunches. Mr. Elsner is the president and CEO of Climatek, a company that develops software for hurricane and tornado risk models that are used by insurance companies to help determine rates.

Private Insurance Payments:

Insurance companies have paid an estimated $41.1 billion on 1.7 million different claims for damage to vehicles, homes, and businesses in six states. 63% of the losses occurred in Louisiana and 34% occurred in Mississippi.

Hurricane Katrina is the costliest disaster in the history of the global insurance industry.

By 2007, 99% of the 1.2 million personal property claims had been settled by insurers.

It is about re-election. They are lying. The Russian arms the Taliban have came from theft.

"Conditions Based Assessment" to war in Afghanistan. The Taliban is not going anywhere. They are backed by the Russian.

Superficial assessments won't work. Intelligence is the only real way to know the conditions within Afghanistan.

There is no reason to continue the proxy war with Russia. If Kabul is accepting the Russians to assist in their country, the presence of the USA is useless.

To propagate war with Russia is a forever war. It is futile and only prolongs the suffering of the people. The Taliban reconstituted in Pakistan and moved back to Afghanistan. Now, they have the backing of the Russians. There is no eliminating them. The FIRST "conditions assessment" the USA conducts has to include the installation of Russian assistance to the Taliban.

The AUMF does not provide for a ground war with Russia.

US Defense Secretary James Mattis (click here) has vowed to “confront” Russia, after the top US general in Afghanistan accused Moscow of arming the Taliban militants.

During a joint press conference with Mattis on Monday, General John Nicholson, the commander of US forces in Afghanistan, said he would not “refute” the claim that the Kremlin was behind an influx of weapons to the Taliban.

“We continue to get reports of this assistance,” Nicholson said. “We support anyone who wants to help us advance the reconciliation process, but anyone who arms belligerents who perpetrate attacks like the one we saw two days ago in Mazar-i-Sharif is not the best way forward to a peaceful reconciliation.”

A senior US military official confirmed to the press earlier in the day that Russia had been supplying machine guns and other medium-weight weapons over the past 18 months.

The unnamed official claimed that Russia was sending the weapons under the guise that they would be used against Daesh (ISIL) terrorists in eastern Afghanistan....

Trump lies constantly. He is using the Bush/Cheney model. CURVEBALL.

It is why there is profound dissonance in the dialogue of Pakistan vs the dialogue of the USA.

USA escalation of the war in Afghanistan based in Russia supplying arms to the Taliban needs a UN resolution.

The tribal areas of Pakistan make their guns by hand. It HAS TO BE PROVEN! The Taliban has no problem getting guns. The Taliban is known to rob banks and otherwise. The Taliban has many sources of guns and ammunition. It may very well be a complete and abject lie by Trump and Tillerson.

Get ready, here come the mobile chemical weapons labs again! Trump is looking at the increase of political clout "W" carried into 2004 elections because of the invasion of Iraq.

It hasn't been determined that Afghanistan with a reconstituted Taliban is a threat to the USA. I know there are human rights involved, there are human rights issues in a lot of places in the world and the USA is not at war. Bombing hospitals is a human rights issue, too.

The Taliban were never a threat. Osama bin Laden was the threat. The Taliban existed before bin Laden. The Taliban became an enemy because they gave save haven to bin Laden and al Qaeda. Any sort of remnants of al Qaeda are in the tribal areas of Pakistan.

...Mattis, who was on his first visit to the conflict-ridden country as the Pentagon's chief, said sending any weapons to Afghanistan is illegal and Washington would raise the issue with Moscow.
“Any weapons being funneled here from a foreign country would be a violation of international law unless they were coming to the government of Afghanistan,” Mattis said.

“We'll engage with Russia diplomatically,” he added. “We'll do so where we can, but we're going to have to confront Russia where what they're doing is contrary to international law or denying the sovereignty of other countries.”...
What country is assisting Russia? The arms to the Taliban can't be delivered by teleporter beam.

New Delhi - India (click here) has signed an agreement under which it will pay Russia to supply arms and equipment to the Afghan military as foreign combat troops prepare to leave the country, in a move that risks infuriating Pakistan.

Under the deal, smaller arms such as light artillery and mortars will be sourced from Russia and moved to Afghanistan.

But it could eventually involve the transfer of heavy artillery, tanks and even combat helicopters that the Afghans have been asking India for since last year.

India has already been training military officers from Afghanistan, hosted a 60-member Special Forces group last year in the deserts of Rajasthan and supplied equipment such as combat vehicles and field medical support facilities....

If there are a satellite of trucks moving munitions into Afghanistan it is the delivery arranged by India.

You know how it goes, Obama never had the guts to do what a real man would do.

Where is Congress? Everyone needs to be on record. Is the USA going to war with Russia?
I have no financial help to even ask such research, but, I think there is an obligation the media, as the fourth arm of freedom in the USA, has to examine the QUANTITY of media coverage of the African American race in the USA. After such research is conducted, the QUALITY and SUBJECT and VERBIAGE of that quantity need deep assessment.

I think that will bring insight and improve justice to our minority citizens. The same type of research can be conducted of other minorities in the USA. This is the digital age and such research can be conducted.

I want to end undetected bias within our language. Media is infrastructure and can either encourage and/or discourage institutional problems.

Thank you.
The Confederate statues coming down need to be sent to smelters and the bases removed and returned to grassy areas for children.

These statues have been mostly invisible to the decent American, but, the White Supremacists saw them very plainly as righteous to their belief system. We need to remove the symbols of hate and return function to our parks. Children need plays space.

I hadn't realized but the statues in Baltimore were specifically built in recognition of the White Supremacy of the South. It was flagged with a statement called, "The Lost Cause." Enough of this. White Supremacy is NOT a reasonable cause for a statue, especially a battle statue.

Charlottesville, Virginia might want to build a statue to Heather Heyer.

The slain (click here) included the Rev. Clementa Pinckney, the church pastor and a state senator, as well as other pillars of the community: a high school track coach, the church sexton, a librarian and an aspiring poet. They all shared deep devotion to the church, known as Mother Emanuel, and passed that faith along to their families, many of whom offered Roof forgiveness when he appeared in court just days after the attack.

Where are the names of these people? I had to look a little harder to find them. I looked everywhere I could before looking on Wikipedia. There are issues. There is a total of 25 Martin Luther King, Jr. statues (click here) in the USA and the rest of the world.

I think a change in the number of characters dedicated in newsprint to African Americans needs to increase. I understand names alone sometimes do not leave behind the impact of the loss of those people, but, kindly consider including names along with their memories and impacts on society.

    The truth about terrorism:

    August 21, 2017

Although Islamic State (click here) is losing fighters and territory in Iraq and Syria, it remained the world’s deadliest militant organization last year and the number of its attacks rose, according to a report from the University of Maryland.

Islamic State operatives carried out more than 1,400 attacks last year and killed more than 7,000 people, representing a roughly 20% increase over 2015, according to the university’s Global Terrorism Database. The increase occurred even as overall militant attacks worldwide and resulting deaths fell about 10% in 2016....

The charismatic movement within ISIS results in lone wolf attacks. They can't develop armies within a country's borders, but, they can employ terrorism. Sovereign countries with stable economies and militaries aren't going to have to worry about any takeover.

In the case of Afghanistan, the neighborhood won't put up with ISIS.

I know this sounds terrible, but, ISIS did the world a favor, it united all countries to end terrorist networks. The reporting by "The Guardian" would indicate it is working.

I remind. ISIS had it's beginnings in Syria by a man once imprisoned by the USA in Iraq. A lone wolf with religious guilt began a terrorist network in a marginal country.

All the Barcelona terrorists, including the imam, are either dead or incarcerated.

    22 August 2017
    By Martin Evans

...The Imam accused (click here) of masterminding the Barcelona terrorist attacks should have been deported at the end of his prison sentence for drug smuggling but overturned the ruling by arguing it would breach his human rights, it has emerged.

Islamic preacher Abdelbaki Es Satty was told he must comply with an expulsion order when he left jail in April 2014, according to the Spanish daily, El Mundo.

But the 42-year-old Moroccan won an appeal against the decision after arguing his case in front of a judge....

It is difficult to second guess a judge. Either a country practices human rights or not. I think intelligence failed on this imam.

What does an unemployed imam do?

    August 22, 2017
    By Jack Moore

The imam who authorities (click here) believe was at the center of the network that planned a wave of terrorist attacks in Catalonia was sacked from a Belgian mosque in 2016 over suspicions about both his past and his radical beliefs, according to members of the religious institution.

Police are investigating links between Abdelbaki Es Satty and the Barcelona network after Younes Abouyaaqoub drove a rented white van into pedestrians in the city’s famous Las Ramblas Boulevard on Thursday. The Islamic State militant group (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the attack.

It was later claimed that Es Satty was one of two killed in an explosion a day before the assault in the town of Alcanar, 120 miles south of Barcelona, at a safe house where the cell was preparing for a larger attack.

In this case, the unemployed imam turned into drug smuggler while fomenting hate. The two kind of go together. Money. An unemployed imam fomenting hate needs money to carry out his mission.

    The American racist issue.

The Charlottesville mayor and council meeting devolved into a public comment meeting after arrests of protesters.

The cities in North Carolina have increased police patrols around statues. They are adding patrol cars to the payroll. The cost of leaving these statues in limbo is going to cost the people more tax dollars. Take them down.

Durham shut down their main street in fear of a White Supremacist march.

    August 22, 2017
    By Barry Yeoman

The fear was that Klansmen would come to replicate the violence that had just racked Charlottesville.

Last Friday morning, (click here) a report spread through my hometown of Durham, North Carolina, that white supremacists were descending on downtown. “We are carefully monitoring the situation,” said an all-points bulletin to city workers, “and are taking precautions to ensure the safety of employees and visitors.” County offices shut down early. Downtown businesses followed. The sheriff’s office reviewed intelligence and notified community leaders. My synagogue moved most of its Torah scrolls. A City Council member tweeted that the Ku Klux Klan was marching at noon....

Economies cannot sustain with racist issues. Tourism will wane. It is time to take down the icons of hate.

"In all of our years of tracking, (click here) we've never seen this many [hate] groups," Heidi Beirich told CBS correspondent Tony Dokoupil. Beirich is the director of Southern Poverty Law Center's (SPLC) Intelligence Project, which monitors hate group activity online. "We've never seen their ideas penetrating the mainstream the way they are. I would say most Americans don't realize how much of this there is."

President Kennedy saw an uptick in White Supremacist activity, but, for very different reasons than it is occurring under Trump.

Evidently, White Supremacists have a history of being predatory. Parents need to earn more per hour (raise the minimum wage) and spend time with their children. The children need them. The Working Poor are burdened with many ills which complicate their lives and opens them to Foster Parents and Adoption Subsidies.

Picciolini felt proud of his culture, which he had learned about from his parents who immigrated from Italy in the 1960s. But while his parents taught him many things about his heritage, he also felt abandoned by them. They worked 14-hour days seven days a week and didn’t notice his love of music or baseball.
“They weren’t involved and they didn’t see they should foster (my interests). I went looking for that elsewhere,” he told TODAY.
Picciolini had no friends; his classmates thought he was that weird Italian kid who brought Nutella sandwiches to school. When this man talked to him, Picciolini felt less alone.
“The way he approached me is that he cared,” he said.
When Picciolini first started hanging out with neo-Nazis, he simply ran errands for them, enjoying how school bullies were suddenly afraid of him and his new friends. At the time, he didn’t follow their bigoted ideas. His parents weren't racist and had diverse friends.

“I didn’t have that foundation of racism,” he said....

The Middle Class is important to the outcome of our young people.

    Enough of this mess.

Increase the minimum wage, rehab drug and alcohol dependency and return the Middle Class to their unions.

Walmart and McDonald's can PRETEND their jobs are FIRST TIME JOBS for young people, but, Newt Gingrich changed all that with his Contract with America and the emergence of the Working Poor.
There is a reason why the rare earth minerals are still in the mountains of Afghanistan. Those are the same mountains with regular earthquakes. It's over in Afghanistan.

It is a felony to attempt to change the will of the people.

I doubt provisional ballots alone will change the results of an election, except, there have been an increasingly close elections wins.

    August 21, 2017

A Durham County grand jury (click here) on Monday indicted a former Durham County elections worker on charges related to the mishandling of provisional ballot results during the March 2016 primary election.

The grand jury returned indictments against Richard Robert Rawling, 59, of Cary, on counts of obstruction of justice, a felony, and failure to discharge a duty of his office, a misdemeanor.

Investigators from the then-N.C. State Board of Elections (now called the Bipartisan State Board of Elections & Ethics Enforcement) found that irregularities resulting from Rawling's actions were not sufficient in number to affect any contest outcomes. It also found no evidence that Rawling altered ballot counts to support a particular political party or candidate....

Wall Street has no future in Afghanistan. I strongly suggest Wall Street companies dependent on USA military contracts DIVERSIFY.

Pence is being honest. He says "The USA is in Afghanistan to stay." The forever war. The USA under Trump/Pence is setting up the country up for failure year after year after year. Win? No. Just a forever war.

Ah, an artificial time line emboldens the enemy. No. Bombing a hospital emboldens the enemy.

Brigade level personnel is provided by USA to compel the Iraqi forces. Is that legal? Can American Commanders lead foreign forces exclusively? That is like hiring out your officers. I thought officers were linked to American units. I don't believe that is even real. Shi'ite units have their own leaders based in their religion. Maybe the Sunnis. I don't think that statement about American leadership in Iraq is real.

Pence wants a war of statues to provide the entire history of the country. I always said parks in the USA need to be full of concrete and iron.

Make America SAFE again. Make America prosperous again. Make America great again.

Safe? The hate group in Charlottesville had a permit. This is not rocket science. Speaking of safe, when are the American war zones going to wind down?

Make America go back to work again. Jobs, jobs, jobs.

Really? Has Pence looked at the unemployment rate lately?

"Our over arching goals in Afghanistan remains the same." - MSNBC showed Obama and Trump's words in addressing the country. THE SAME. Guess what? The military is occupying the Presidency year after year after year. Maybe we need an exorcist for the Oval Office.

Oh, that is a good point, Russia is expanding it's role in Afghanistan that supports the current government in Kabul and the Taliban. There is no losing the war is there?

Trump is holding a rally today? He is campaigning. He doesn't like his rejection percentage in popularity. Who is losing now, huh, Don? He has an approval rating of 37 percent post Bannon. It can only get better from here. Hate works for the Republican base, but, not the rest of the country. As a rule the American people expect improvement in the country after an election, not worse. The undecided at Gallup is 6 percent. That won't win an election with a disapproval rate solidly at 58 percent.

War isn't as popular as it used to be and the chance of Afghanistan going back to pre-911 status is slim to none with Russia forcing the USA out of the country. Russia is not dropping bombs this time, they are occupying Kabul.

Now this sounds right or should I say, Trump's Wall Street Agenda.

    • The U.S. has spent (click here) upwards of $700 billion on Afghanistan's war, and the Trump administration is hoping to recoup some of that via its vast mineral wealth.
    • An Afghan spokesperson told CNBC that Trump's attention to the country could be a 'strategic win-win' for both.
    • A recent study pegged natural resources in the country as worth at least $3 trillion, but the Taliban remains a key hurdle to any development efforts.
I think the USA can safely come home and out of Afghanistan. I would really check the idea that the USA Commanders are leading Iraq's military. I know that is not correct when it comes to the Shi'ites. But, the $1 billion embassy must be serving some purpose. I think 'volunteering' our military leaders equates to soldiers of fortune, too. There was a report that two Americans died in Iraq a couple of weeks ago. The ODD statement that accompanied that reporting was that the Americans were not involved in any battle. The opposition forces in Iraq hunted the Americans down to eliminate their leadership. I'd place real money on that.

Look this mess in Afghanistan is a fight for wealth. The USA military wants to stop Russia from obtaining wealth. We are fighting Russia in Afghanistan. It is time to stop fighting proxy wars with Russia and bring the soldiers home. Russia will stock pile rare earth minerals. There is on Wall Street wealth coming out of Afghanistan. Those minerals will be mined and disappear into military stockpiles. The only company making money are the mining companies and that is a CAPITLAISM paradigm. Russia is a communist country with mining companies owned by the state when necessary.
