Google's tribute to "Chinese New Year." The year of the rooster.
Behind the Name (click here)

Meaningorigin and history of the name Karl. German and Scandinavian form of CHARLES. This was the name of seven emperors of the Holy Roman Empire and an emperor of Austria, as well as kings of Sweden and Norway. Other famous bearers include Karl Marx (1818-1883), the German philosopher and revolutionary who laid the foundations for communism, and Karl Jaspers (1883-1969), a German existentialist philosopher.

The name became increasingly unpopular in the USA after the 1960s.

Steve Bannon, formerly the head of Breitbart News, has been made Donald Trump’s senior adviser

It’s well-known (click here) that when Donald Trump was elected, those on the far-right, including white supremacists and so-called white nationalists – the difference between the two may not really exist –celebrated loudly. One of several branches of the Ku Klux Klan had even endorsed him.

Now, the appointment of the controversial “alt-right” media mogul Steve Bannon as a senior adviser to Mr Trump – a position that may be more significant than that of chief-of-staff – has been similarly cheered by white supremacists.

Andrew Anglin, proprietor of the Daily Stormer, one of the leading far-right websites and popular with neo-Nazis, declared of Mr Trump: “Our Glorious Leader has ascended to God Emperor. Make no mistake about it: we did this.”...

Karl Rove and his infamous "White Board." The Democrats are hardly holding up nominations. The nominations themselves are receiving bad reviews because of Trump's bad choices. Sheer political joy has nothing to do with it.

Former Bush advisor (click here) Karl Rove slammed Senate Democrats for holding up the nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) for attorney general, citing allegations of racism.

If you were a Republican in Alabama in the 1960s, you were a racial moderate, Rove said on "The O'Reilly Factor," pointing to the southern segregationist and Democratic faction supporting then-Gov. George Wallace Jr. (D-Ala.).

Travellers with valid visas and green cards (click here) have reportedly been prevented from boarding flights and turned away at US border control after Donald Trump signed an executive order banning citizens of seven Middle Eastern countries from entering the United States.
Lawyers have announced a legal challenge to the order, which the US Department for Homeland Security confirmed on Saturday afternoon applies to green card holders, meaning lawful permanent residents of the United States will be barred from returning if they travel abroad....

...Declaring the measures (click here) were aimed at keeping "radical Islamic terrorists" out of the US, Mr Trump also suspended all immigration from seven predominantly Muslim nations and established a religious test that will give Christians in Muslim countries visa priority.

It had been feared the new policy would scuttle the refugee deal the government struck with the Obama administration, which is aimed at resettling hundred of refugees – most of them from the countries banned by Mr Trump – from Manus Island in Papua New Guinea and Nauru.

But the government is taking hope from a section of the US order that appears to provide a workaround.

It says the Secretaries of State and Homeland Security have the discretion to admit people on a "case-by-case" basis, specifically giving scope for exceptions that would "enable the United States to conform its conduct to a pre-existing international agreement"....

The candidates for president of the United States, (click here) particularly on the Republican side, have hotly debated how to handle the roughly 2,000-mile (3,200-kilometer) border between the United States and Mexico.

Donald Trump has famously and repeatedly promised to seal the border with a wall if he's elected. He and others have promised to send people who illegally crossed the border—a number that appears to have leveled off—back to Mexico. For these people, the border wall isn't an abstraction. Many parts of the border are already covered in fences. In other spots, the wall is not made of bricks, but out of scanners, drones, and guards....

President Trump ordered the construction today of a border wall (click here) along the U.S.-Mexico border. But there's at least one complication so far: a wall already exists in some areas. Last spring, we visited different parts of border—the ones heavily guarded with long lines for cars to cross, and the places where the two countries are separated by little more than dirt and trees.

The border that Trump hopes the wall will protect is roughly 2,000 miles long. And the area spans diverse geology, including terrain not always hospitable or conducive to large-scale construction. (Trump hasn't said exactly how high he wants the wall to be, or how thick, although engineering and media critiques have questioned the feasibility of such a project.)...

International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Rome, Italy

Italian Holocaust survivors Sami Modiano, right, and Piero Terracina embraced each other during a commemoration ceremony in Rome's Capitoline Hill. Dozens of guests, including Rome mayor Virginia Raggi, attended the ceremony.

The German parliament (click here) remembers the victims of the Holocaust every year on January 27, which is the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. But for the first time, the commemorations emphasized the approximately 300,000 people who were murdered in Nazi euthanasia programs.

The President of the Bundestag, Norbert Lammert, recalled that 2017 marked the 75th anniversary of the Wannsee Conference, the meeting held to organize and plan the mass murder of European Jews. Lammert said the conference reflected the "technocratic, cynical inhumanity" of Nazi Germany.

But mass killings were already well underway before the 1942 conference. Doctors had been sterilizing people diagnosed as genetically ill since 1934, and systematic mass murder of such people had been taking place since 1939 as part of what became known as Action T-4. Those who didn't fit in with racist Nazi ideals of health were sent to six killing facilities in Germany and Austria.

"Euthanasia began with the denunciation of people as useless mouths to feed," Lammert told the audience, which included German Chancellor Angela Merkel and German President Hans-Joachim Gauck. "Barbarism of language is barbarism of the spirit. Words became deeds."...

I would think the Ultra White would be interested in these statistics.

The Ultra White since "W" has instilled the 'right to forget longevity' and indulge anything Wall Street sells. Everyone knows the extremes of places like McDonalds, Burger King and Wendy's; but; the extremes such as "The Heart Attack Cafe" really put 'entitlement to everything' center stage. Now, the Ultra Right members are dying prematurely, especially the men.

What is limited government?

A limited government is a political system where the legalized force is restricted through delegated and enumerated powers. The United States Constitution, for example, was designed to limit government's role to its core functions: to preserve individual liberty and protect private property. Politicians and economists differ on their concept of a limited government, but a common interpretation is that it is a governmental body that levies just enough taxes to provide for national defense and police protection and otherwise stays out of people's affairs.

Congressional oversight is the voice of the American people according to Republican dogma. When the American people are forced to accept a limited government they lose their ability to monitor their own government. The American people cannot be tapped to reign in their runaway administration and it's congress.

There is nothing in the USA Constitution that demands democracy. The USA Constitution sets up a representative democracy, but, it never mentions the word democracy. "One vote" with a representative government.

Communist countries have one vote as well.

Nowhere is the word "democracy" (click here) mentioned in the Declaration of Independence or the U.S. Constitution. How could that be? Our government is a democracy!

Well, for one, as we'll discuss later, the Founders actually feared democratic ruleJAMES MADISON expressed this attitude in FEDERALIST #10: "...instability, injustice, and confusion ...have in truth been the mortal disease under which popular governments everywhere perished..." In the late 18th-century, rule by the people was thought to lead to disorder and disruption. Yet a democratically-based government was seen as superior to the monarchies of Europe.

Democracies did not originate with the founding of the United States. The term "democracy" comes from two Greek words: "demos" (the people) and ""kratia" (power or authority). So of course DEMOCRACY is a form of government that gives power to the people. But how, when, and to which people? The answer to those questions changes through history....

The Tea Party goes back to 1776, that doesn't include the Bill of Rights.

The people are allowed their liberties and it is through liberty that government will be monitored. POLE SITTERS. Observatory powers of the people in all areas of government will bring about lawsuits that will force courts to determine the rights of the people to receive those powers.

These folks don't care about anything, but, the US Constitution. Judges will rule according to standing law and the Trump administration and congress will be thrown out of governance. The judicial branch will bring about government, not the executive branch under this administration. It is a ridiculous dance that is illegal to begin with, but, the "W" administration was famous for pushing the powers of the Executive Branch.

Sorry, Donald, but Congress and the people through the amendment process has't removed the Bill of Rights or the entire 27. This administration is wrong and is using the people's taxes for political purposes.

Amendment 27 Annotations

No law varying the compensation for the services of the Senators and Representatives shall take effect, until an election of Representatives shall have intervened.

Some of what will transpire with this administration will trickle down to the states, counties and cities. Other issues such as our federal lands will be viewed by the people themselves to realize activity is different and there are problems in the federal administration. Yet other issues will crop up as fish industry monitors no longer are allowed to carry out their vital research and the fisheries start to crash. It will be the evidence 'of living' in the USA that will bring about knowledge of the workings of the USA federal system.

I strongly recommend fishermen and their families pay attention to Alaskan fisheries for the pollution of mining! Pollution is going to effect every life in the USA AGAIN. Even packing plants won't be required to have USDA stickers. Mercury will not be monitored. All kinds of intrusion into an American way of life will begin and the evidence of these pollutants will result in illness; very serious illness. The cities will be forced to hire monitors and set up their own USDA stamp of approval. It is the cities that will push back against such deregulation and make it stick.

The federal government (click here) is obliged by many constitutional provisions to respect the individual citizen’s basic rights. Some civil liberties were specified in the original document, notably in the provisions guaranteeing the writ of habeas corpus and trial by jury in criminal cases (Article III, Section 2) and forbidding bills of attainder and ex post facto laws (Article I, Section 9). But the most significant limitations to government’s power over the individual were added in 1791 in the Bill of Rights....

Fish swimming in polluted waters carry the pollutants in their flesh; ie: the Great Lakes (click here). The local economy is going to have to take care of it's people and insure their well being. Local ordinances should be passed stating same and passed on to all suppliers to the area, including small business owners. It is what is purely wonderful about the ever growing organic food market; it is already in place and able to expand it's prowess.

Go, America, Go!

Our government is more complicated than ducks walking.

The Trump Administration has lost the Catholic Church, so when does their torture begin?

The States need to examine their ability to protect all the people that rise up against the radical Trump administration and those accused of anything less than being a loyal Americans paying taxes. The poor are under attack right now with proposed assaults against the Affordable Care Act. So, the states really will be the firewall between the federal government and the citizen; I would take that seriously.

Hours after President Trump (click here) signed an executive order blocking refugees and citizens of seven Muslim countries from entering the United States, the head of the Boston Archdiocese issued a call for “mercy for those fleeing violence and persecution.”

Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley made the statement on his personal blog just hours after participating in the pro-life march in Washington, D.C., and posting a video to his Twitter account where he said that marchers were “so glad” that Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, had addressed the crowd.

In his blog posting, O’Malley made no explicit reference to Trump, but noted that immigration has come to “occupy a central place in our national life at this time.”

"The Catholic voice in the immigration debate calls for reform based on reason, compassion and mercy for those fleeing violence and persecution,” O’Malley wrote. “At a pastoral level, in our country and in the Archdiocese of Boston, the Church must be a community which provides pastoral care, legal advice and social services to refugees and immigrants, as we have done in this ....

...May tried to push Trump toward positions she supports, (click here) noting that he had assured her he was "100 percent" behind NATO, a world body he has dismissed as "obsolete." Trump let May's statement stand without comment during a joint news conference in the White House East Room.
Trump also addressed other matters, including his recent statements that torture "does work" in prying information out of terror suspects.
Trump was pressed about whether he would revert to a George W. Bush-era use of torture. Multiple news organizations had earlier obtained copies of a draft executive order signaling widespread changes to U.S. interrogation and detention policy.
Trump said he would defer to Mattis, who has questioned the effectiveness of such practices as waterboarding, which simulates drowning.
"He has stated publicly that he does not necessarily believe in torture or waterboarding, or however you want to define it. ... I don't necessarily agree. But I would tell you that he will override because I'm giving him that power. He's an expert," Trump said.
A few hours after the news conference, Trump stood at the Pentagon as Mattis, the retired general, was formally sworn in as the military's chief.
The draft order, which the White House said was not official, also would reverse former President Barack Obama's effort to close the military detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba -- a place Trump has said he wants to fill up "with bad dudes."
The draft also requests recommendations on whether the U.S. should reopen CIA detention facilities outside the United States. Critics said the clandestine sites have marred the United States' image on the world stage....

The "Ultra Whites" hold power.

It has been quite a week.

Gag orders: Rep. Elijah Cummings, (click here) the top Democrat on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said Thursday that the Trump administration's effort to restrict agencies' external communications appears to violate federal law....

The Border Wall: President Donald Trump's plan to build a wall, (click here) which could cost as much as $20 billion, along the entire U.S. border with Mexico isn't just expensive, it would also rip apart the tight-knit communities that straddle the two countries.

That is probably what terrifies the billionaire class. What is to stop a terrorist from crossing the border with such lax security between towns along the border.

That's according to research from three master's degree candidates in architecture at Portland State University. They are finishing their thesis analyzing the problems a 2,000-mile-long wall would cause for cities and towns sprinkled across the four states that share a border with Mexico.

Janna Ferguson, Alex Ruiz and Genevieve Wasser drove 2,000 miles visiting towns on both sides of the border. In a presentation to the media Friday, they described the vibrant societies seen in such cities as Nogales, Arizona, the Texas communities of Laredo, El Paso and Brownsville, and other places U.S. and Mexican cities have symbiotic relationships....

Billionaires, at least Republicans, have issues with control. They are very removed from 'the street,' reality and the American landscape (It is difficult to know what goes on in Walmart from Walton cloud city). As far as the Waltons are concerned corporate welfare (medicaid and food stamps) is necessary to be sure their workers arrive alive, on time and in uniform.

Extreme vetting: Just hours after President Donald Trump signed (click here) an executive order to allow for new “extreme vetting” measures of immigrants, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a civil rights advocacy group, announced that they plan to file a lawsuit.

There is no evidence that refugees – the most thoroughly vetted of all people entering our nation – are a threat to national security,” said CAIR National Litigation Director Lena F. Masri said in a statement to LawNewz.com.

Trump’s order suspends the immigration of all people from countries with ties to terror including Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Iran and Libya for 90 days. The order also prohibits Syrian refugees from coming into the U.S. for an undefined period.

“We are not admitting into the country the very threats our soldiers are fighting overseas,” Trump said during General James Mattis swearing ceremony....

Muslim Ban: ...In December 2015, (click here) when Trump proposed a “complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States,” most Republicans backed the idea. But most whites were cool to it, and over time they turned colder. A few days after Trump’s announcement, a Monmouth University poll found that 62 percent of whites opposed “banning all Muslims from entering the U.S.” Thirty percent favored the idea. By June, opposition had increased: 66 percent of whites opposed a ban, while 24 percent still favored it. By September, 72 percent opposed a ban, and only 19 percent still favored it. When the proposal was rephrased as a “temporary ban on Muslims who are not U.S. citizens,” white support was higher, but it still declined over time. In a May ABC/Post survey, whites endorsed a temporary ban by 8 percentage points. In August, they opposed it by 4 points. In January, when an ABC/Post survey asked about “banning most Muslims who are not U.S. citizens from entering the United States,” whites opposed it by 19 points....

The more I look at information/data from this election the more it simply makes no sense. The only thing that makes sense to me is the radical move by Comey to defeat Secretary Clinton. People literally went into the polling booths saying, "What the hell, Clinton is no real choice." The voters in majority were not in agreement with Trump. So, what gives?

Deportation:...In June 2015, (click here) Trump kicked off his campaign with a tirade against undocumented immigrants. He called them rapists and drug mules and vowed to build a “great wall on our Southern border.” Later, Trump proposed a “deportation force.” That message earned him a fan base on the right. But white Americans, for the most part, didn’t follow Trump’s lead. They rejected it.

In July 2015, shortly after Trump’s campaign launch, 34 percent of whites polled by Fox News said illegal immigrants should be deported. Sixty-one percent chose the alternative offered in the survey: “a system for them to become legal residents.” For the next 15 months, Trump pounded the immigration issue. But when the Fox News pollsters repeated their question in October, they found that white support for deportation hadn’t increased. It had fallen from 34 percent to 21 percent....

Are lawsuits moving through the courts quickly, otherwise, they will become mute after 90 to 120 days. There will be changes made that will follow these bans and the lawsuits will have to be repeated and updated.

...The order imposes (click here) a 120-day suspension of the entire U.S. Refugee Admissions Program and a 90-day ban on all entry to the United States from countries with terrorism concerns.
The State Department said the three-month ban in the directive applied to Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia and Yemen -- all Muslim-majority nations.
The order also halts entry to the U.S. by Syrian refugees until the president determines that changes to the refugee assistance program ensure that admitting them won't compromise national security.

Trump also signed a presidential memorandum on "rebuilding" the U.S. armed forces, giving Mattis 30 days to conduct a "readiness" review and report back on steps that can be taken this year to improve conditions....

Let's not forget the demand for propaganda from the media: The White House Press Secretary (click here) yelled at the media and said, “Photographs of the inaugural proceedings intentionally framed in one particular tweet to minimize the enormous support that had gathered on the National Mall.”
Spicer continued, “Inaccurate numbers were also tweeted. No one had numbers, because the National Park Service, which controls the National Mall does not put any out….This was the audience to ever witness an inauguration, period, both in person and around the world.”
None of what Spicer said was true....

So, let me see if I get this right. First Amendment rights are violated by gag orders and demands for propaganda from the media. Countries are insulted regarding immigrants and refugees and really doesn't know what is coming next, except, Russia. And border security is paramount to human rights of people coming across the USA border. I already know; "What about American civil rights?" In a way that question is a two edged sword and I'll let the billionaires decide what I mean by that.
At this point, all I can say is, "Everything Hitler did was legal according to German law."
