A Brazilian citizen (click here) who authorities say fought alongside Russia-backed separatists in eastern Ukraine has been sentenced to 13 years in prison by a Kyiv court.

The Brazilian was convicted of creating a "terrorist organization" and "recruiting mercenaries for terrorists," the Pechersk district court said in a statement.

The January 25 statement did not name the man or say when he was sentenced.

Ukrainian media, including outlets based in separatist-held territory in eastern Ukraine, have reported that his name is Rafael Lusvarghi and that he was arrested upon arrival at Kyiv's Boryspil International Airport in October 2016.

Ukraine calls the conflict in its eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions an "antiterrorist operation," and officials often refer to forces on the separatist side as "terrorists."...

What was he doing there?

We have some bad news with a possible silver lining. (click here)

Rafael has been found guilty by the illegitimate Kiev regime and sentenced to 13 years in Jail.

While this is the last thing we all want to here, especially considering the inhuman and illegal conditions he is subjected to, we hear that this means he may be eligible for prisoner transfer or exchange for Ukrops held by the DNR, LNR or The Russian Federation.

Again please help make the world aware of Rafael's plight in any way you can....

...He is believed to be the first non-Russian to be convicted and sentenced by Ukraine for alleged crimes relating to the war, which has killed more than 9,750 people in eastern Ukraine since April 2014....

Was the Brazilian government aware of this case and if so did they try to reply?

Everyone remembers when the Brazilian government moved worlds and funds to try to save a Brazilian convicted of drug trafficking in Indonesia. Even drug trafficking being a type of crime with negative consequences that can affect countless people, being practiced mainly by social parasites, our government has made an immense effort to try to interfere in this case.

Not only the government, but all the television, print and virtual media made efforts in this endeavor. Several NGOs mobilized to try to force a totally uncalled-for and unnecessary "solidarity" with a nobody whose crime served to cause numbness, innocent deaths and social degradation.

Considering the precedent, why the silence regarding Rafael Lusvarghi, then?
