Try Canada for a real vacation with northern lights over the ski  slopes.

"Hot Deals and Packages" (click here)

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is only one of many great resorts in Canada.

There is real snow at Kicking Horse Resort with one centimeter of snow in the last 24 hours. One centimeters is under one half inch or snow. The total snowfall so far this season is 181cm or 71 inches. Seventy one inches is a shade less than six feet.

When thinking snow, think Canada under the Northern Lights.

As I previously stated, Europe will need NATO to maintain national security.

In an effort to retake the city of Mosul from ISIS, (click here) a coalition of forces consisting of various governments has begun the grueling task of flushing insurgents out of the city. While many of the terrorist organization’s leaders fled the city before the fighting began, ISIS has retained roughly 4,000 to 8,000 fighters within the sizable Iraqi town. Yet, as forces from Iraq, Kurdistan, Australia, and the United States converge, an unbeknownst threat has emerged — the possibility for external violence within bordering E.U. nations.

Although retaking Mosul is pivotal in reducing the regional power of ISIS in Iraq, a significant dilemma facing leaders is the risk of terrorists fleeing elsewhere within the region. While there has been increased surveillance to prevent radical fighters from leaving the town freely, there are thousands of refugees desperately departing Mosul each day. The repeated bombardment of ISIS strongholds within the city creates humanitarian issues, an avenue through which many fighters could escape undetected. According to a report by NBC, “…About one-fifth of ISIS’s total number of fighters, or 3,700 people, are residents or nationals of Western Europe, including 1,200 from France alone.” This means that fighters within Mosul could use their documents to stream back across the open European Union borders....

Oussama Atar, 32, (click here) believed to be a member of the Islamic State group, was already a suspect in the March 22 attacks on Brussels but has now been linked to the Nov. 13 atrocities in Paris last year.
"He's the only coordinator from Syria to have been identified during the investigations," one of the sources told the AFP.
French investigators have long suspected that the Paris attacks, in which teams of militants killed 130 people, were coordinated by one or several people from Syria, but they have not named anyone before now.

Atar, believed to use the pseudonym Abou Ahmad, is a cousin of the El Bakraoui brothers who blew themselves up in the Brussels airport and metro attacks.

Another two cousins, Moustapha and Jawad Benhattal, were arrested on June 18 on suspicion of planning an attack in Belgium during a public screening of a Euro 2016 football match, Belgian media reported at the time.
France is preparing this weekend to mark the anniversary of the Paris attack....

Be grateful for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. He needs our support as does the governance in Alberta.

The conservation community of the USA has made some very good friends in Canada. We need to appreciate them and continue to build that relationship.

This is no different than the time of "W" and Cheney. The international community is vital to uphold the moral values we all know are best.

This is the bizarre nature of the American democracy. With only a few hundred people in the federal government the fate of the rest of the world hangs in the balance. It is outrageous to think about. Primarily Republican men that know nothing about the suffering within other countries make decisions adverse to them while they are helpless to change the course.

We are once again faced with another bizarre set of Republicans that have no desire to relate to other governments or people regardless of the impact of their decisions. We have learned a good deal about the heartless and profit driven Republican administration under "W" and Cheney. There is no reason to think differently about the burgeoning power of the Tea Party in the USA. If anything, we need to think less of them and protect more from them.

The United Nations has never been more important while the representation of the USA will dwindle into petty priorities within that global governing body. The path for peace and a benevolent Earth climate must remain on track.

I am concerned about the outrageous interference of the USA elections of 2016 by the FBI. Who's side are they on? I am concerned for the quality of intelligence in the USA and it's direction forward. Other international intelligence agencies affiliated with The West need to be high profile to stunt any wayward paths by lies within USA intelligence. I don't trust Director Comey and never will again. More than that, I don't trust the anarchy that runs rampant in the FBI and quite possibly more intelligence agencies. This disruption of the USA elections was no mistake. I suspect the anarchy of leaks within the USA intelligence community is driven by politics. Here we go again.

It's getting harder to build an oil pipeline in Canada. (click here)

In 2013, when TransCanada Corp. proposed a cross-country pipeline that would be among the longest in the world, the Conservative Party was in power and the project's approval seemed a given.

But the new Liberal government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is now requiring pipeline projects to pass a more stringent environmental review, including a climate test to determine how it would affect greenhouse gas emissions.

That change represents a major shift in environmental policy in Canada following nearly a decade of Conservative rule under Prime Minister Stephen Harper....

Camp Pendelton – Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus (click here) – an often criticized but progressive leader of the Navy and Marine Corps – visited the seaside base Wednesday for the last time in his nearly eight-year career.
“For me, leading the Department of the Navy is the greatest honor of my life,” Mabus, who announced his plans to retire earlier this year, told the several hundred Marines gathered around him on the parade field.
During a sometimes contentious tenure, Mabus focused on social change and environmental issues. He led a series of energy-saving initiatives for the Marine Corps and Navy, implemented uniform changes to make males and females look more similar, created gender-neutral job titles and extended maternity leave for female service members.
Mabus, 68, talked Wednesday about changes he has seen in the Marine Corps and Navy. And he said he is focused on four key priorities that set the foundation to enable the Navy and Marine Corps to maintain a global presence....

I am not saying freezing rain is not a serious concern, but, this is Alaska. The wind is causing more of a problem at sea than any impact over land. That vortex has loft, too. Similar to the loft one would find with a hurricane.

President Obama (click here) can and should fire FBI Director James Comey. He’s already publicly supported Comey’s behavior as being well-intentioned and non-partisan, but now the time’s come for Obama to acknowledge the damage Comey’s bad judgment has caused to the institution of the FBI. And now that the whole kerfuffle has revealed that there are several agents (many? dozens? hundreds?) within the New York offices who are dedicated to pursuing evidence and indictment of a presidential nominee, Comey has demonstrated his inability to bring a halt to that investigation. The “rogue” agents simply refused to accept his directives and those of the Justice Department. In short, Comey has lost control of his organization.

Meanwhile, (click here) a person who spoke to the Trump campaign told POLITICO that the aides have also discussed tapping Sarah Palin for Interior secretary. Trump has said he’d like to put Palin in his cabinet, and Palin has made no secret of her interest.

This is what the Trump campaign. THE CAMPAIGN. Was doing while the election was progressing and they were laughed out of the court. It is the courts that will mitigate this administration, not Mitch McConnell no matter how scared he is right now.

The Trump campaign wants to make names of Nevada poll workers public. Judge's response.

Donald Trump should not attempt to demonize Pope Francis for any criticism.

Pope Francis was celebrated in the USA by Roman Catholics that sought his wisdom.

While he was visiting the USA, Pope Francis held a ceremony of faiths. There is a reason for that. There is a aspect to the Roman Catholic faith that accepts what is called the "ecumenism of blood." This strengthens the basis of Roman Catholic reach to bring about strength of the faithful and peace.

The "ecumenism of blood" is defined as a joining of Christians. It can also include members of other faiths without the traditional religious requirements of baptism, communion and the rest of the sacraments. The "ecumenism of blood" acts to join Christian faiths, Muslims and other faiths in rebuking and end religious prosecution of any kind.

Recently, the global community came together to end the charismatic movement of a death cult called Daesh/ISIS. The "ecumenism of blood" brought the faiths of all those countries under one roof, if you will? It is a joining of a common understanding of the suffering of people.

The idea that a wall at the southern border of the USA won't fall under scrutiny and potential retribution by the global community is being very naive and foolish. But, no one ever said the Republicans care about any other faith than their own political dogma.

Pope Francis does not have a favorite political dogma, he answers to a higher power. So, if he states Donald Trump is not a Christian within the understanding Jesus Christ left the world by witnessing God in his death, he really means it.

Pope Francis (click here) has said religious persecution is uniting Christians around the world – a development that the Pontiff went on to describe as an “ecumenism of blood”.

The Pope was speaking to members of a number of Christian Churches gathered in the Basilica of Saint Paul Outside the Walls on Sunday evening to celebrate Vespers and mark the conclusion of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
“In this moment of prayer for unity, I would also like to remember our martyrs, the martyrs of today,” he said.
“They are witnesses to Jesus Christ, and they are persecuted and killed because they are Christians. Those who persecute them make no distinction between the religious communities to which they belong. They are Christians and for that they are persecuted. This, brothers and sisters, is the ecumenism of blood.”
During his homily Pope Francis called on Christians to look to the example of Jesus Christ and work together to spread the Gospel in the modern world....

"One of the candidates for the White House, Republican Donald Trump, stated in a recent interview that the pope is a politician and maybe even a pawn, a tool for the Mexican government for  immigration policy. He said that if elected, he wants to build a wall more than 1,550 miles long along the border. He wants to deport 11 million illegal immigrants, separating families, etc. Then I would first ask you what do you think about these allegations against him and if an American Catholic can vote for such a person?'”

POPE FRANCIS
"Well, thank God that he said, 'I am a political person,' because Aristotle defined the human being as a 'political animal:' so at least, I am human! And that 'I am a pawn...' well, perhaps, I don’t know... I’ll leave that to your judgment and that of the people... However, a person who only thinks about building walls, wherever they may be, and does not focus on building bridges is not a Christian. This is not the Gospel. In regards to voting and not voting, I will not get involved. I'm just saying that a man that is saying this is not a Christian, if he has really said all of these things. Until then, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.”

Pope Francis should build strong relationships with Europe and his friends from South America. Other than those countries the West is not interested in traditional Christian values. The Christianity of the Trump electorate is void of the principles of peace and humanity. The question has to be asked is there a regime within the Trump victory that is a much larger concern than years past?

The electorate of the Cuban population in Florida was a legitimate surprise given their faith.

Barack Obama and Raúl Castro (click here) have thanked Pope Francis for helping broker a historic deal to begin normalising relations between the United States and Cuba, after 18 months of secret talks over prisoner releases brought a sudden end to decades of cold war hostility.
The two presidents spoke simultaneously on Wednesday to confirm the surprise reversal of a long-running US policy of isolating Cuba, detailing a series of White House steps that will relax travel, commercial and diplomatic restrictions in exchange for the release of Americans and dissidents held in Havana.
Though a formal end to the US trade embargo requires legislation in Congress, both Obama and Castro said they believed such executive action was sufficient to significantly open up relations between the two countries and allow travellers and trade to flow relatively freely.
“In the most significant changes in our policy in more than fifty years, we will end an outdated approach that, for decades, has failed to advance our interests, and instead we will begin to normalise relations between our two countries,” said Obama in an address from the White House cabinet room. “Through these changes, we intend to create more opportunities for the American and Cuban people, and begin a new chapter among the nations of the Americas.”...

The Cuban citizens of the USA is not about faith, it is about money and the political power that brings. Immigration reform is out of reach for at least the next four years.

This is probably the tone of most USA allies.

It is a similar tone when "W" took the presidency. The UK leapt to the side of the USA when the Iraq coalition was formed. The reason that occurred was to have an influence with decisions made by the White House. The White House holds the reins of power for the USA military and the then Prime Minister Tony Blair made moving speeches to the Parliament regarding the relationship between the USA and Great Britain and the need for continued cooperation.

If USA allies throw their weight counter to any radicalism in the new White House they may have a stabilizing effect for their economies and national defense.

See. As I have said.

There is always the chance a USA administration can occur from the extremes. It is that fact that controlled the elections this year. If one recalls there was $1.2 billion spent on the 2016 presidential election. The USA is compromised by it's Supreme Court and there is every indication that will continue. The difference between "W" and Trump is that Wall Street had Bush in it's back pocket, that is not the case with Trump.

Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop (click here) has conceded Donald Trump is set to be the next president as reaction to the US election unfolds around the globe.

Speaking just moments ago, Ms Bishop said the Australian Government was ready to work constructively with a Trump administration.

“The new administration will have a number of challenges including in our region,’’ Ms Bishop said.

We want to work constructively with the new administration to ensure a continued presence and leadership of the US in our region.’’

She said the US was a major security ally, largest foreign direct investor and second largest trading partner.

“It will be a responsibility of the Australian Government to press upon the new administration the importance of leadership (and) importance of the United States maintaining a strong presence in the region....

Australia is reeling. Trump will rely heavily on cabinet officers.

He told his electorate he would stand by his promises. If he continues down that path it will mean a great deal of turbulence for the global markets. The only country happy today is Russia. I would not doubt a state dinner with Russia will be on the way.

Australia is not NATO, so the alliance may continue if it falls into a benevolent position within the Trump administration.

President Donald Trump will declare economic war (click here) on our biggest customer, wipe unprecedented amounts off global stock markets, usher in extraordinary financial instability, and risk turning the world's biggest economy into a basket case by pushing its national debt past 100 per cent of GDP.

And that's just what's known about his economic program. The Economist observed in the leadup to the election that while his policies were unusually short on detail, their direction "could not be clearer".

China takes 1 in every 3 shiploads of Australian exports, more than any nation has since Britain in the 1950s according to consultant Saul Eslake. Even small variations in what it wants sends our budget into conniptions.

Trump has promised from "day one" to designate China a "currency manipulator". That would allow him to whack a giant 45 per cent tariff on everything it tries to sell to the US, a prospect he has mentioned with relish. The US is China's biggest market, taking 18 per cent of everything it sells. China would have to retaliate (somehow), raising the prospect of a trade war that would damage both China and the US. War gaming by the respected Peterson Institute says it could push the US into recession by 2019. The last time that happened, during the global financial crisis, Australia avoided recession with help from China. We mightn't get it a second time....
The Cubans from Florida (click here). I am fairly sure that is why Rubio was re-elected.

The Democrats need to continue to influence change within the states of Florida and Texas while they shore up California. The Blue Wall needs to be reinforced otherwise this new populous trend will continue to hack away at Democratic support.

The Millennials voted for non-traditional candidates. That will continue. The DNC has the best adviser for the future in the Independent from Vermont. I strongly suggest they heed his words.

The fund raising among the electorate needs to continue post election and into the elections of 2018 and beyond. The DNC has a very different political paradigm to deal with and the Sanders constituent may be in the process of starting a new base of success in those voting outside the traditional parties. The DNC can either adapt or continue to loss their representatives in the US House and US Senate.

...too put on my wish list...

Bill and Hillary Clinton having a permanent Op-ed with Bloomberg News. Someone has to speak to the hate in the country as violence is escalating. There was a gunman at a California polling place. That has to be a first for the USA in the modern era. We need to make that attack the last.

China no longer stands alone as having the most polluted cities in the world.

Delhi (click here) has been blanketed in a toxic fog the morning after the Hindu festival of Diwali, when hundreds of thousands of people in the Indian capital celebrate by setting off crackers and fireworks.
Air quality in the Indian capital, one of the world’s most polluted cities, is usually very poor due to road dust, open fires, vehicle exhaust fumes, industrial emissions and the burning of crop residues in neighbouring states.
But the density of some harmful particles and droplets in the air spikes for days after Diwali and can reach up to 42 times the safe limit.
An air quality station at the US embassy in Chanakyapuri, one of the city’s greener districts, recorded a PM2.5 level of 999 on Monday morning. India’s pollution control board sets the safe limit for PM2.5 – which measures particulate matter smaller than 2.5 micrometres – at 60.
By contrast, the highest PM2.5 level recorded in London on Monday morning was 139, at a measuring station in Farringdon. Averages tend to be far lower across the year, at about 16, according to a 2010 study....

"The Bush and Obama administrations also gave their commitment to this solution, and this must now be implemented in practice. Peace and stability in the region will not be attained without an end to the Israeli occupation."
Habayit Hayehudi Chairman Naftali Bennett, meanwhile, hoped Trump's election would bring an end to the two-state solution.
"Trump's victory is a tremendous opportunity for Israel to immediately announce its intention to renege on the idea of establishing Palestine in the heart of the country – a direct blow to our security and the justice of our cause....

The USA's local economy need to focus on cultural strengths.

Local economies can develop their own protections of cultural. A UN agency that appreciates culture as a means of protections of people is the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The picture below is the latest example of cultural appreciation and protection. Such cultural focus within the United Nations' programs maintains vigilance to prevent genocide of peoples.

There has been a movement within the USA to bring issues of concern to the United Nations' platform. That focus should continue and strengthen.

The international community has adopted a focus on forest protection as a means to stem the climate crisis.

November 9, 2016

Marrakech - The Climate Change Conference (COP22) (click here) in Morocco celebrated Forest Action Day on Tuesday.

COP22's Forest Action Day celebrations are a part of the Global Climate Action Agenda to protect, restore and sustainably manage forests.

Launched earlier on Tuesday by the climate champions for Morocco and France, Hakima El Haite and Laurence Tubiana, the Agenda aims to boost cooperation between governments, cities, businesses, investors and citizens to cut emissions and help vulnerable nations adapt to climate impacts and build their own clean energy and sustainable futures.

Speaking at a special event entitled "Global Climate Action Launch Event," Abdeladim Lhafi, Morocco's High Commissioner for Water, Forests and the Fight against Desertification, said that conserving, restoring and managing forests is essential to meeting global sustainable development goals, including combating desertification and water insecurity.

Lhafi announced that Morocco will launch a new initiative called "Strengthened Action in Favor of Forests in the Mediterranean-Sahel Region in the Context of Climate Change" (AFMS)....

...Deforestation and forest degradation currently contribute up to 12 percent of carbon emissions, more than the entire transport sector.
However, by halting deforestation, reducing and reversing forest degradation, forests could contribute significantly to the climate solution in the coming decades.
The COP22 Global Action Agenda will feature eight other theme days, namely water, industry and businesses, as well as resilience in cities, buildings, energy, transport, oceans and agriculture.

It is going to take a lot more Mexico pesos to pay for the USA southern wall.

The people need to solidify local economies in the USA. There needs to be stability as the Republican majority takes over the Congress and the White House. I do not have confidence in any of the policies at the federal level. The Republicans are primarily anarchists that rely on police to define domestic peace. It will be hands off by Washington, DC. Americans have to take an active interest in their local economies for the sake of stability.

The focus of the federal government is going to be ridiculous.

Up to 300,000 Nato troops (click here) have been put on alert amid rising tensions between Russia and the Baltic states.
Jens Stoltenberg, the secretary-general of Nato, said the alliance hoped to speed up the response time of thousands of its troops to allow it to react to a combat situation more effectively.
In October, it was reported Nato was preparing to station 4,000 troops on the Russian border with the Baltic states in its biggest military build-up since the Cold War. The troops will be summoned from nations across the alliance, including the UK.
“We have seen a more assertive Russia implementing a substantial military build-up over many years – tripling defence spending since 2000 in real terms; developing new military capabilities; exercising their forces and using military force against neighbours....

I think the global security should prepare for more regional control. I do not anticipate more control by the USA military on a global basis. The primary focus of the anticipated change in governance will seek to bring a larger war to the Middle East.

This is a populous governance that can be discerned according to campaign stance. I also expect Russia to be a larger player in military decisions. Russia concerns itself with 'stable states' and will look to the new governance of the USA to impress the best path forward with the two countries.

Europe must not flinch in defending its interests and people (click here) now that Donald Trump's election win has added to the uncertainty created by Britain's decision to exit the European Union, France's foreign minister said on Wednesday.
France is a key American ally, and its officials had in recent weeks openly endorsed Hillary Clinton for U.S. president and warned that Trump's "confused" foreign policy objectives were alarming for the rest of the world.
"We have to meet the challenge for a Europe that must be able to better defend its citizens and its interests," Ayrault told France 2 television....

The markets will be more volatile as each change in the USA policies change drastically.

The dollar (click here) lost it's value against the Japanese Yen after Donald Trump was announced as President - Elect.

The USA is free floating in it's direction and sound principles. The USA path forward is not predicable. Donald Trump has promised to change the policies of the country to reflect the demands of the people. It is a populous basis with this change of governance.
The Democrats don't have a good outreach to rural America other than the minority populations. The Democrats are going to have to work at returning to a party of the minority. Quite frankly, this is a change election and the candidate that would have lead a win was Senator Bernie Sanders. The DNC didn't respond to the country's mood and demands.

When does the impeachment of Donald Trump begin?

The foolish nature of anger.

The US House and US Senate has gone red. I feel bad for the country.

The Democrats have to begin their 2018 campaigns now. Nancy Pelosi and the new leader of the US Senate need to push their agenda for the country.

Comey pushed the under ballot to the right. He was completely hateful of Hillary Clinton during her entire campaign. He needs to be removed. He is too erratic in his position as FBI Director. I can't believe he is that much of an activist within the USA national security apparatus. The change in the country's mood and leanings was determined by Comey. The damage was done when he came forward to reverse his words regarding the Clinton campaign.

Watch Social Security and Medicare. The entitlements will be attacked and dismantled. The country is going to need to pay attention.

For Democrats (click here) and some political prognosticators, the answer to their surprisingly bad night is simple: Comey. Specifically, James B. Comey.

The fact that the FBI director brought Hillary Clinton's private email server roaring back into the national conversation 11 days before the election — only to clear her (again) the weekend before Americans voted — is unforgivable in many Democrats' minds. And in those same minds, Comey is the reason they find themselves seemingly on the brink of losing in an election in which polls suggested they held a significant edge.
