Well done, gentlemen.

Lawrence O'Donnell is really exceptional. He attracts people in very unusual ways. For competition the very name of the show, "The Last Word" absolutely makes them crazy. FOX is always trying to come up with words that will somehow out shine the O'Donnell program.

Now, Donald Trump was moved to donate $10,000 to the fund. Very nice. Lawrence being cautious about propriety and journalism integrity found a way to promote the education of the girls requiring scholarships without compromising the show or the Trump presidential campaign.

Tonight, Lawrence O'Donnell had "The Last Word." Best of luck to both of you. The important part is the girls and their secure future. Thank you to both gentlemen in never compromising sincere ethics and wholesome values.

Very nice.

Jordan's King Abdullah will meet with President Obama within a month.

Jordan has been exceptionally generous with refugees.

Amman — His Majesty King Abdullah (click here) and US President Barack Obama met briefly on Wednesday at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington as the two leaders were leaving the US capital.
The King and Obama agreed to meet next month, according to a Royal Court statement.
The Associated Press reported from Washington that the two leaders crossed paths at the base, which houses Air Force One, as King Abdullah was preparing to leave the US at the end of his visit and Obama was departing for Nebraska.
Earlier on Wednesday, the King continued a series of meetings with US Congress members that he started on Tuesday, discussing Jordanian-US relations and the latest developments in the Middle East, especially in relation to combating terrorism.
King Abdullah met with Speaker of the US House of Representatives Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin), Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-California), according to the Royal Court.
The King expressed Jordan's gratitude for US support through the House of Representatives and through other financial assistance, which has reached around $1.2 billion annually, helping Jordan better deal with the repercussions of regional challenges and the issue of Syrian refugees....

Amman — Her Majesty Queen Rania (click here) on Tuesday met with Queen Mathilde of Belgium and other officials in Brussels to discuss mobilising international support for Jordan’s education sector.
Queen Rania met with Belgium’s Prime Minister Charles Michel and European Commission President Jean-Claude Junker to discuss ways to address the increasing strain on Jordan’s education sector as a result of the Syrian refugee crisis, according to a statement from her office.
Her Majesty’s meetings focused on showcasing the struggles Jordanians face in cities that are densely populated by Syrians.
She highlighted the impact the crisis has had on the Kingdom’s resources, infrastructure, and especially schools, which have accommodated 150,000 Syrian students.
This has affected the quality of education at schools that have been forced to run double shifts, with teachers under pressure to handle larger numbers of students in each class, the statement said.
Her Majesty’s meetings are part of Jordan’s extensive efforts at all levels, ahead of the Syria Donors Conference in London in early February where education will be a key theme....

It seems as though Saudi Arabia is interested in privatizing some of it's public interest programs.

Jeddah: Privatization (click here) of the country’s public health sector would improve services for the nation’s people and save costs, according to a Ministry of Health doctor.
Saleh bin Suleiman Al-Harbi, a family medicine consultant at the ministry, said there would be much more efficient use of the ministry’s property and assets, which are worth nearly SR80 billion.
In reference to Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s recent interview with The Economist about plans to privatize some sectors of economy, including health, he said this would ensure greater productivity and transparency, and eliminate wastage of medicines.
Al-Harbi said the Kingdom, like other countries, is seeing an increase in health service costs, with about 10 percent of its annual budget going to health provision, or about 5 percent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product. Government spending represents about 70 percent of total spending on health care, he said.lll...

Washington: US President Barack Obama (click here) flayed Republican presidential candidates for anti-Muslim rhetoric and accused critics on Tuesday of playing into the hands of Daesh in his last State of the Union speech to Congress before leaving office next year.
In a direct slap at Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, Obama said insulting Muslims hurt the United States and “betrayed” its identity.
“When politicians insult Muslims ... that doesn’t make us safer,” he said, drawing applause from the crowd in the House of Representatives chamber. “It’s just wrong. It diminishes us in the eyes of the world. It makes it harder to achieve our goals.”
Referring to Daesh, Obama said: “Masses of fighters on the back of pickup trucks and twisted souls plotting in apartments or garages, they pose an enormous danger to civilians and must be stopped. But they do not threaten our national existence.”

Our Arab allies were just as worried about the Americans in Iran as anyone else. I am sure it was a difficult time for the sailors. They did very well in being patient with diplomacy to bring about their return.

Our Arab allies are more familiar with the USA than Iran has been. The diplomacy with Iran only started with the Obama Administration. I am sure trust will increase the longer Iran has exposure to the US State Department.

Less than a day after 10 US Navy sailors (click here) were detained in Iran when their boats drifted into Iranian waters, they and their vessels were back safely Wednesday with the American fleet.

US Secretary of State John Kerry tapped the personal relationship he has formed with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif in the three years of negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, speaking with him at least five times by telephone. Kerry credited the quick resolution to the “critical role diplomacy plays in keeping our country secure and strong.”

US Defense Secretary Ash Carter thanked Kerry after the sailors’ release and couched the incident in humanitarian terms, noting that “the US Navy routinely provides assistance to foreign sailors in distress.”

For Tehran, the Americans’ swift release was a way to neutralize a potential new flashpoint days before it was expected to meet the terms of last summer’s nuclear deal, which will give Iran significant relief from painful economic sanctions....

Criminal-justice reform (click here) is one of the few bipartisan issues gaining traction in Congress right now. Politicians from the left, the right, and the center now recognize the need to reduce the United States’ unprecedented prison population. But an immigration bill under debate in Congress shows that the impulses that created mass incarceration still run strong in American politics.
In July, a group of legislators introduced the Establishing Mandatory Minimums for Illegal Reentry Act of 2015, popularly known as Kate’s Law. On Wednesday, the U.S. Sentencing Commission estimated that Kate’s Law would expand the federal prison population by over 57,000 prisoners, according to Families Against Mandatory Minimums, a nonprofit organization that supporters sentencing reform....
...Steinle’s death set off a firestorm of protests among opponents of illegal immigration. Donald Trump transmuted some of the outrage over Steinle’s death, as well as his broader invectives against illegal immigration and “political correctness,” into frontrunner status in the Republican presidential-nominee race. On a July 6 segment that defended Trump’s comments, Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly urged his cable audience to lobby Congress on a mandatory-minimum provision he called Kate’s Law. The following night, he clarified his proposal even further....
...Despite the public rancor, immigrants are generally less likely to commit crimes than the native population, according to the The Wall Street Journal. Mandatory minimums are generally ineffective at reducing crime or recidivism. Anti-illegal-immigration advocates who complain about the burden on the American taxpayer might find a 28 percent increase in the federal prison budget counterproductive. But these are relatively minor points in the debate. What matters is the all-too-familiar refrain: Something must be done....

I don't like it any more than anyone else, but, the facts are the facts.

..."The gun was pointed at the ground," (click here) James Norris, the former head of the San Francisco Police crime lab, said repeatedly on the stand Thursday during the preliminary hearing of Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, a Mexican national and five-time deportee who has ignited a national debate on illegal immigration and drawn the ire of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Out of court, Norris called the shooting an accident. "You couldn't do this on purpose," he said of intentionally ricocheting a shot and hitting a person roughly 100 feet away....

Sorry, Holly Madison (click here) — it's Hef's turn to tell his story!
Hugh Hefner has led an incredible life, which will be told in an upcoming miniseries American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story!

The project will tell the tale of the Playboy founder's life and company — from his days as an Editor In Chief from 1953 to today!

The production will have full access to Hefner's video and photo archives as well as the Playboy library — which holds over six decades of magazines and unpublished material!
American Playboy will use a "hybrid" docudrama narrative style, telling the story of the 89-year-old's personal life as well as the progression of the country he wanted to evolve!
Hef is nothing but excited for the upcoming docu-series, saying it will serve as a reminder for how far we've come as a society! He recalled:
"When I started Playboy magazine in 1953, I couldn't imagine the incredible journey that was to follow and that Playboy would have such a significant voice in the discussion of our ever-changing culture. I'm pleased that this docu-series will help serve as a reminder of where we've been and how we've evolved as a society, but more importantly my hope is that it will inspire others to pursue their dreams."...

California governor Jerry Brown (click here) gave signs in a Wednesday interview on CNN that he may be considering running for president.
Brown, who has run for president three before, spoke with Wolf Blitzer about the current Democratic field. The Democrat said he has not yet endorsed a candidate, calling frontrunner Hillary Clinton "formidable" and refused to give advice about Vice President Joe Biden, who is reportedly mulling a run.
"I will say, though, about the Clintons, with some experience, they are very formidable," said Brown, who ran against Bill Clinton in 1992. "I would not underestimate Hillary Clinton."...

I congratulate HBO as it continues to bring quality television to the USA.

The war mongers are out regarding the USA members of our military that found themselves in Iran waters.

Iran did not do anything wrong and there was no one in military leadership that apologized for the incursion. An officer would have to explain to the Iranian military as to what was happening. If it were Iranian soldiers in USA waters they would be addressed the same way.

The media has nothing else to do except carry on like it is the verge of World War III?

A video aired (click here) Wednesday by Iranian state television shows an American sailor apologizing for entering Iranian waters, an embarrassing development for a U.S. administration trying to paint the service members' quick release as a diplomatic victory.
"It was a mistake that was our fault and we apologize for our mistake," said the U.S sailor, who was identified by Iran's Press TV as the commander. "It was a misunderstanding. We did not mean to go into Iranian territorial water. The Iranian behavior was fantastic while we were here. We thank you very much for your hospitality and your assistance."...

London, Thursday, April 5 — Iran on Thursday morning (click here) released the 15 British sailors and marines it seized at sea nearly two weeks ago, resolving a diplomatic impasse with what Iran’s president called a “gift” to the British people.

In announcing his intentions on Wednesday, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said that although Iran had every right to try the Britons on charges of trespassing in Iranian territorial waters, it would instead forgive them and allow them to go home.

The captives met with the British ambassador to Iran late Wednesday night, the Foreign Office said. But a spokesman said they were still in Iranian custody and that their travel
arrangements were still being made.

About 7 a.m. Thursday in Tehran (4:30 a.m. in London), the Britons arrived at the airport for an 8 a.m. commercial flight to London, Reuters said. Shortly before 8:30, Iran Radio reported the plane had left....

These issues occur from time to time.

Why not talk to the former Secretary Clinton about this because she was very successful when Americans were in a bind in Iran. Forbid, Secretary Clinton actually hog the spot light to make her expertise known when it comes to such issues with Iran.

The Cruz family did not have a consultant or lawyer advising them?

...A review of personal financial disclosures (click here) that Mr. Cruz filed later with the Senate does not find a liquidation of assets that would have accounted for all the money he spent on his campaign. What it does show, however, is that in the first half of 2012, Ted and Heidi Cruz obtained the low-interest loan from Goldman Sachs, as well as another one from Citibank. The loans totaled as much as $750,000 and eventually increased to a maximum of $1 million before being paid down later that year. There is no explanation of their purpose.

Neither loan appears in reports the Ted Cruz for Senate Committee filed with the Federal Election Commission, in which candidates are required to disclose the source of money they borrow to finance their campaigns. Other campaigns have been investigated and fined for failing to make such disclosures, which are intended to inform voters and prevent candidates from receiving special treatment from lenders. There is no evidence that the Cruzes got a break on their loans.

A spokeswoman for Mr. Cruz’s presidential campaign, Catherine Frazier, acknowledged that the loan from Goldman Sachs, drawn against the value of the Cruzes’ brokerage account, was a source of money for the Senate race. Ms. Frazier added that Mr. Cruz also sold stocks and liquidated savings, but she did not address whether the Citibank loan was used....

His opponent was completely overwhelmed by the financing of Cruz run in 2012. What the heck did he think he was running for? I don't like the money. It is way out of line compared to what is usually spent. Then to realize he has a SuperPac with a single billionaire that has no limits on spending. I find this all very odd. It might be legal, but, odd.

The reality of the 99 percent. Why can't we elect the people that will work for US!

Thank you, Dubai. It is regretable this occurred at all and caused alarm.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (AP) (click here) — Iranian state media reports all 10 detained US Navy sailors freed.
This is a breaking news update. AP's earlier story follows...
Ten U.S. Navy sailors taken into custody by Iran after their two small boats drifted into Iranian waters were expected to be released, possibly as early as Wednesday morning local time, American officials said.
These officials said that Tehran had assured them the crew and vessels would be returned safely and promptly. Meanwhile, the Navy chief of the powerful Iranian Revolutionary Guard said Wednesday that the American boats showed "unprofessional acts" for 40 minutes before being picked up by Iranian forces after entering the country's territorial waters.
The navy chief, Gen. Ali Fadavi confirmed on state TV Wednesday that the Guard was holding the crew and their two small boats. The detainees included nine men and one woman, who were being held overnight at an Iranian base on Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf. They were expected to be transferred Wednesday to a U.S. ship in the region....

It is a difficult time for everyone. Trust is not easily rendered. All the negotiations across the planet takes some persistence to push past old and bad feelings among countries. With the exception of diplomats the countries first distrust and work through that distrust before better circumstances are realized. Someday our children will laugh at our silliness.
As for me and the President's speech; I believe President Obama has wanted to make that speech for a long time. I think he especially enjoys the State of the Union Speech because everyone HAS to listen to the speech even if they don't hear him. It is his best shot at making connections with people that hear and speak in nothing but rhetoric.

I think he so much wanted to make that speech he was optimistic in his first year that healing would gel with such adverse economic dynamics from the previous administration. But, Republicans claim all their methodologies are prefect and unappreciated by the Democrats. That wasn't going to change. Unfortunately.

After hearing FOX, no one is about to let the Republicans loosen their bondage with that network.

The reason Republicans are galvanized into a corner with their methodologies and estranged from governance is because they believe Capitalism alone is the governance the country needs.

Interesting photo.

An officer from the Indian Central Reserve Police Force shouts slogans during preparations for the upcoming Republic Day parade near the Presidential Palace in New Delhi Tuesday. India marks Republic Day on Jan. 26.
Senator Thune after the speech stated a Republican president has to reverse everything this administration did. He stated the Senate would not pass a AUMF. He stated the President can do everything he should with the power he has. Everyone, even Thune knows that is a lie. But, it is the reason OCO funds are exceptionally high. He stated 67 votes are needed to change the rules of the Senate that would allow individual appropriation bills to pass. He though Governor Haley acknowledged a lot of anger out there. We need to do what she states as a party and strike a tone we want for the future of the party, up lifting people using liberty than expanding government.

There was a citizen stating she thought President Obama and Governor Haley said the same thing when it came to uniting the country.

Charles Krauthammer stated President Obama was completely disconnected from reality. That was the only message Krauthammer had in many different phrases and words.  - he is pretending to recognize the dangers of Islam while bring violence inside the borders of the USA - territoriality Islam is the largest threat we have ever had - George W. Bush made the same appeal to accept Muslims in the USA and it was not contested because he called the terrorists what they were - Radical Islamic Terrorists and went after - Radical Islamic Terrorists - the American foreign policy is completely disconnected from reality - Obama is talking about a world that does not exist - he didn't listen to his advisers - the element of that speech showed how disconnected he was - he is being treated with contempt by Iran - illegal missile tests which we have responded with nothing - our journalist was never addressed - Iran is unrestrained and unmolested
dollars
Megan Kelly - we are about to give these people 150 million

Citizen - President Obama makes me angry when he talks about closing Gitmo when the released terrorists simply go back to doing the same thing as before.

A panel of citizens believe Congress is more responsible for dysfunction of government by a large margin. A citizen stated, President Obama only has himself to speak about everything, while the Congress has many members to cause dysfunction without looking as though it is only one person involved. A that time Mr. Lutz leading the group wanted to change the dialogue by stating, so you are all attacking the "institution," but, no one took the hook.

A citizen state he was angry because Congress has absolutely not one fully formed plan to replace Obamacare, yet they have and keep voting for repeal of the bill. I think president Obama made a good speech  and Governor haley followed up the same way.

Senator Rubio - Obama set up a straw man in ISIS. It is not a JV team but a sophisticated group that used our immigration system to get into the USA. It is the best funded and organized terrorist group in the world  today. ISIS is not conducting WWIII, but, it is a significant conflict. It is turning our own citizens that can attack within the country. ISIS needs to be met with the seriousness it deserves. ISIS is  not a nation state but are acting as a nation state.

Rubio - This President has been the single most divisive figure in history. Seven years of saying Republicans don't care about blah blah blah... He has bitterly divided this country and have done it for political gain. I feel very positive about Iowa and NH. Our support is growing. Iowa and NH will reveal good vote counts for us.

Megan Kelly wanted to know from Senator Rubio how Senator Haley made the State of Union address reply without sipping water. Senator Rubio stated she did great speech tonight and we were all joking about the sip of water. I don't know what I am doing with water during the campaign. I don't focus on it. She did a great job and was the perfect person to give the response. I am proud of her. I don't know how anyone gets away with saying Republicans are not diverse, we have two Hispanics running for President and a woman and African American and we don't have the FBI chasing us.

I found a list of those invited to the State of the Union Speech so I don't understand Megan Kelly's statement that President Obama invited C.A.R.E. to the speech because they are being prosecuted for being involved with terrorism. Megan Kelly stated that didn't come from her. It came from the DOJ.

Hartfort, Conn. (AP) — A doctor whose mosque (click here) was shot up shortly after the Paris terrorist attacks and a man who spent 18 years in prison for a rape he did not commit are among the guests of Connecticut’s congressional delegation for President Barack Obama’s final State of the Union address on Tuesday.

Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy also is scheduled to attend the address, having been invited by the Obamas to sit near the first lady.
Here is a look at the State of the Union invitees of the state’s all-Democrat congressional delegation:

— Dr. Mohammed Qureshi, of Marlborough, president of the Connecticut chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, a guest of Rep. Joe Courtney. The mosque his family attends, Baitul Aman in Meriden, was shot up hours after the Nov. 13 attacks in Paris that killed 130 people. The mosque was vacant at the time, and no one was hurt. A neighbor of the mosque is charged with a federal hate crime.

After the mosque shooting, Qureshi advocated for education and understanding in response to anti-Islamic sentiment.

— James Tillman, of Glastonbury, who served 18 years in prison for a rape he didn’t commit before being exonerated and freed in 2006 based on new DNA tests. Tillman was invited by Rep. John Larson. After being freed, Tillman was awarded $5 million by the state for his wrongful conviction, and last year he graduated from Goodwin College with an associate degree in human services.
Larson calls Tillman an inspiration and mentor to community members.
— Mark Barden, of Newtown, whose son Daniel was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012. He is a guest of Sen. Chris Murphy. Murphy praised Barden for his efforts to prevent gun violence as a co-founder and managing director of the community group Sandy Hook Promise.

— Michael Zacchea, of Brookfield, a retired lieutenant colonel in the Marines, a guest of Sen. Richard Blumenthal. Zacchea was wounded in combat in Fallujah, Iraq, in 2004 and received two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart for his service.

— New Britain Police Chief James Wardwell, invited by Rep. Elizabeth Esty. Esty cited Wardwell’s work to address opioid addiction and prevent gun violence.

— Don Carlson, an attorney who lives in Greenwich and was invited by Rep. Jim Himes. A spokesman for Himes said Carlson and the congressman are longtime friends who met while attending Harvard University.

— Marcia LaFemina, president of the Pennsylvania Globe Gaslight Co., a small manufacturing company based in North Branford. LaFemina was invited by Rep. Rosa DeLauro, who cited LaFemina for paying 100 percent of employees’ health care premiums and providing paid sick leave.

Kelly's opening sentence to her program was (shouting to camera) Obama favors Muslims and there was no mention of our sailors. Iran was mentioned in that Iran rolled back it's nuclear program but there was no mention of ten soldiers.

It seems to me there is only one President Obama, but, many soldiers at FOX that have license to say and do as they want. It would seem as though FOX has many hate mongers so no one person can be blamed for everything evil said about the President.

Kelly was talking with Cruz. - Senator Cruz states it is not surprising Obama called it an avoided war, he is in the state of denial. Senator Cruz hopes soldiers not held as hostages tonight, his thoughts are with the families tonight. It shows how out of touch Obama is with this country. Tonight every lobbist is feeling better tonight (TPP) - Hedge Fund managers are happier tonight. Senator Cruz states he hear from blue collar workers and students. Studnets are up to their ears with debt and Obama is not hearing their cries. - I will apologize to no one for my willingness to kill terrorists (carpet bomber). Obama did not say a word about San Bernardino - Philadelphia.  Obama or Hillary does not speak the name of ISIS as Radical Islamist Terrorists. - There was a mention about Donald Trump saying Cruz is making calls all day long. I have no idea what calls are made to whom. I have been with voters all day. - Kelly wanted to know about Cruz appearance on Harvey Carr Radio saying Donald Trump is a New York Values Person. Cruz denied it and stated every Republican candidate in the field was attacking Trump in the past few weeks, but, tonight every candidate was attacking him and Cruz believes that is saying something. Trump stated I was a leftist at Harvard. Cruz stated, "I am winning over Hillary Clinton."

No matter what any Republican has to say about Donald Trump everyone of them are keeping their fingers crossed that he brings New York to them.

Republican citizens at the Lutz group states - President Obama fell short of my hopes. He is dangerous. I am fearing my own country and my own life. His agenda was always to be divisive. His agenda does not reflect by beliefs and values. I do however agree with raising the minimum wage, but, equal pay for equal work is all artificial. I don't believe it exists.

Marc Thiessen was one of three panelists with Megan Kelly. - President stated plenty that was divisive. He said, poor people on food stamps did not cause the economic problems of 2008. Then he stated the stimulus 2009 stimulus had right wing programs like the tax cuts but we were never given credit for it.

"I am glad I am not in Washington, the sulfur is terrible. Everyone laughed and then were all mimics, "Washington is going to be sulfurous."

He also downed the fact big government is the issue while he has a health care agenda and prescription drug abuse. There was a veiled reference to Donald Trump in the speech that we lean on the greatness of government for winning elections.

Megan Kelly met with Debbie Wasserman Schultz and our Democratic Chair was not very nice. She didn't think Governor Haley was appropriate for the speech. Debbie stated the Governor has a problem in her state, not popular and she was chosen to give the speech. I don't believe she was the best choice. What I did tonight was asked by colleagues to join me.

Rep. Schultz makes it her business to deprive Republicans of their messaging. She was successful, however, she missed an opportunity to bring the two parties closer in the way appreciative citizens did.

The reason US Rep. Schultz is taking on the Republican messaging is because the GOP is trying in every way to mimic Democratic values as stated by the former Secretary as their own. The Republicans are trying everything. It is an all out assault on Hillary Clinton's character - each member of the FOX commentators have their own agenda - they are mimicking Dems values - the Republican candidates are mimicking FOX - FOX is stating anything they can INTERPRET from the emails to ESTIMATE what the FBI is looking into to charge Hillary Clinton. Basically, they are building a reputation better than Hillary's character could ever be. They are trying to attract her voters and if they are doing that they must have some interesting statistics for the November elections. FOX and the Republicans are scared. The Republicans are far, far to right and they might have figured it out and have no place to go with their standard message so they are taking Hillary's as their own while weaving it into their own poison.

I was a little suprised the extremist miltia wasn't mentioned...

...but, then innocent people can be involved and the security of the region of the USA is possible.

...Rep. Jeff Miller, (click here) chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee said the audit indicates that the department has a management problem, not a money problem.
“If VA’s job was mismanaging money, it would have a near-perfect record of achievement," Miller said. "Yet despite this and other high-profile budgetary failures, all too often the department’s knee-jerk response to challenges is to ask taxpayers for more money."
A veterans advocacy group that has been pressing for a complete overhaul of the VA health system, including partial privatization, said Tuesday that the IG audit “shows the department is not truly invested in giving veterans more options.”
“This report makes clear that in addition to relying on faulty budget projections, the VA failed to provide oversight for the program, to the likely detriment of nearly 80,000 veterans,” Concerned Veterans for America press secretary John Cooper said.
In a response to the audit, Under Secretary for Health Dr. David Shulkin said he concurred with the recommendations made by the auditors, and he attached a plan of action.
Veterans issues have been a focus of the administration -- transitions from military service, employment and homelessness.
