This is what Assad and Russia have to defeat in Aleppo.

Russia does not want help. Assad is the ONLY leadership that is predictable. That is the problem. There is no rebel force that is predictable.

...Western governments and Russia (click here) have clashed at the UN Security Council even while the Syrian government presses ahead with its military offensive against rebel-held areas of Aleppo.
The UN Security Council voted on Saturday on two rival resolutions on the fighting - one drafted by France calling for an end to air strikes and a second by Russia that urged a ceasefire but made no mention of halting the bombings.
Russia vetoed the French-drafted resolution that would have demanded an immediate end to air strikes and military flights over Syria's second largest city, and for a truce along with humanitarian aid access throughout the country.
It is the fifth time Russia has vetoed a UN resolution on Syria during the more than five-year conflict....

Unfortunately, refugees is the real salvation of Syrians.

Yossi Antebi and David Ginzi (click here) are amongst the Jews of Aleppo who immigrated to Israel; one has fond memories of his hometown, but the other remembers being ambushed on the way to school; regardless, both are saddened by the city's violence today....

The homeland has betrayed the refugees. In time the refugees will have the right to return, but, not now. It is far to dangerous to leave people in Aleppo and attempts to send in humanitarian aid can be used by killers and those that imprison the innocent people of Syria.

The United Nations Security Council has to consider Russia's war plan as the only workable solution to end the violence against Syrians. Once stabilized there can be changes proposed for a power sharing government. But, the stabilization of Syria will require time and intense scrutiny as to what defines stabilization. I think the UN Security Council has a difficult job to determine abuses of war in contrast to a war plan that will defeat the jihadist military in Syria. I think it is possible to understand Russia and Assad's war plan.

Russia needs to stop asking for cease fires that it does not sincerely want and the USA needs to stop it's proxy war. There should be no goal other than ending the violent jihadist military and rescuing innocent people wherever possible.
