This manifestation of an attack comes at a very interesting time. It is met with a coalition of Arab countries determined to act to protect each other.

Has Israel sent foreign ministers to meet with the Arab countries in the coalition? It should. Netanyahu needs his ears bobbed. The distress these countries are under is real and Israel does not need to make it worse by raising religious problems.

The absolute reality of these magnificent countries that have been very good friends to the USA really do want to be left alone. They are not interested in more proxy wars between the USA and Russia. These great countries want peace. 

The fear mongering and talk of war by the Republican right wing sincerely is not appreciated in the Middle East. Stop to think about what is being said and how that reflects on their own ideas about their countries and the future of their children.

Aden, Yemen: (click here) Daesh suicide bombers killed 22 people in attacks on Yemen’s government and its Gulf Arab coalition ally in the port city of Aden and on a Houthi-run mosque in the capital Sanaa on Tuesday, state media and the terrorist group said.
It was the first known direct Daesh (Arabic acronym of Islamic State) assault on the Yemeni government and the Saudi-led coalition that intervened in the country’s civil war in March against Iranian-backed Houthi forces who had seized large areas of the country to that point.
Four coordinated Daesh suicide bombings killed 11 Yemeni and four United Arab Emirates soldiers in Aden, Yemeni officials and the UAE state news agency said. The general command of the UAE’s armed forces said the dead included four Emirati soldiers, though the SPA said three Emiratis and one Saudi died.
In Sanaa, seven people were killed in the attack on the Al-Nour mosque in the Al-Nahda district of the Houthi-controlled capital, the Houthi-run state news agency said.
Claiming responsibility for the Sanaa bombing, Daesh said in a statement that dozens of Houthis preparing to go to the battlefront had been killed or wounded....

Iran will not find a welcome to diplomatic relations if it continues to arm radicals. That is a shame. The Sunni countries have been welcoming to Shia for a very long time. If there were ever reason to reflect on 'the truth' let it be that The West meddled too much and took advantage of oil that was never their's to have.

Iran needs to extend diplomatic relations with the Sunni countries in the region and offer peace. Trying to carry out revolution is not going to succeed. Iran can't live in the world alone, not should it try. 

I know these are empty words, but, "It's going to be okay." Iran simply needs to follow the lead of the Sunnis and become one among many.

Iran needs to pay attention. The deaths in Aden can be linked to the arms shipments out of Iran.  

There is a new Arab Spring and it reflects on history.

Tell me there is one lie in this essay, because, I can't find one. I left the first paragraph off because it refers to "The Daily Telegraph" which is a News Corp newspaper. For that group of news media, "war without end" is a common phase and nothing new. As a rule they like to inflame everything, even Santa Claus and Christmas. It's amazing.

...In the western media, (click here) the culpability of the US for the woeful state of the Middle East is a taboo subject. Consider how little was said about the 25th anniversary of the historic speech that US President George H. Bush made as the Soviet Union unravelled. On Sept. 11, 1990, Bush proclaimed the end of the Cold War, the stand-off between the west and Russian Communism that had gone on since 1945. Mankind, he exulted, could now look forward to a ‘New World Order.’

How could this anniversary have been remembered without embarrassment when it is all too evident that thanks in no small degree to US foreign policy the new world order has become disorder of epic proportions? Ten years after that speech, his headstrong son, President George W. Bush, presided over a Washington administration that gloried in ‘unipolarity,’ a world where the US, now an unchallengeable hyper-power, appeared free to do as it liked.
One of his apparatchiks scornfully portrayed commentators who presumed to question the Bush regime as inhabitants of the ‘reality-based community,’ doomed to remain passive spectators while the regime made its own reality. Who cared what others might think? Democratic debate had become an irrelevance. 

There was a more than a hint of fascism about the swaggering conduct of the US in the aftermath of 9/11. Britain’s subservient Prime Minister Tony Blair enrolled himself as a leading mouthpiece of a power-crazed Washington administration committed to ‘full spectrum dominance,’ with the reconfiguring of the Middle East high on its agenda. 

It was the administration’s much-trumpeted belief that the toppling of the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, would lead automatically to the diffusion of Western-style democracy throughout the entire region. Whether there was idealism in any of this, as distinct from sheer cynicism, is hard to determine.
What is certain is that Bush and his acolytes, not a few Zionists among them, paid no heed to the Arab world’s complex human ecology. With their blind faith in the efficacy of force, they were war-mongering zealots purporting to be visionaries. 

Lamentation over the gulf between the high-minded words and destructive actions of Western policy makers rings through a rueful new collection of essays, Shifting Sands, edited by Raja Shehadeh and Penny Johnson. Writing on Iraq, the historian Justin Marozzi records his dismay that advocates of intervention appear unabashed, despite abundant evidence that it has proved not just futile but counterproductive. 

It is indeed extraordinary that many exude self-righteous certainty that the problem with the US occupation of Iraq was not that it ever took place but that it ended too soon. Is it not time, Marozzi suggests, for such people to be learn to be more altogether more humble and realistic about what the West can hope to accomplish with foreign adventures? 

Contributors to Shifting Sands survey the long, dubious history of Western intervention in the Middle East, looking back to the fateful period back after the First World War when Britain and France ruled Iraq, Syria and Palestine under a mandate system designed to mask their true predatory intentions. James Barr reflects on the emergence of the Arab-Israeli conflict out of the British efforts to establish a self-interested alliance with Zionism. 

Raja Shehadeh ponders the consequences of western betrayal of the Palestinians. Not, he is convinced, until there is justice for the Palestinians ‘can the deadly fuse that was ignited more than a 100 years ago and which has been slowly burning further and further afield, setting off many bombs along its route over the large region of the Middle East, be extinguished.’

Shehadeh and his fellow essayists provoke the question: What would the Middle East be like had it not been endlessly bedevilled by western meddling? Would it be the scene of cataclysmic crisis that it is today?

This is the Second Amendment and there are definitions rarely discussed that defines mlilia.

It is all very old law.  

In subsection (a), the words “who have made a declaration of intention” are substituted for the words “who have or shall have declared their intention”. The words “at least 17 years of age and * * * under 45 years of age” are substituted for the words “who shall be more than seventeen years of age and * * * not more than forty-five years of age”. The words “except as provided in section 313 of title 32” are substituted for the words “except as hereinafter provided”, to make explicit the exception as to maximum age.

In subsection (b), the words “The organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia” are substituted for the words “the National Guard, the Naval Militia”, since the National Guard and the Naval Militia constitute the organized militia.

The words “appointed as . . . under section 4 of this title” are omitted as surplusage.

I think this substitution of words to members needs clarification by the military, because, "the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.", that phase implies that members of the unorganized militia means those folks are attached in some way to the military.

It seems very obvious to me there is only militia in the USA and in the year 2015 that is the current military. 

This is Israel?

The last thing the region needs right now is a radicalized Israel. This hostility toward Arabs has to stop.

It was perhaps inevitable (click here) that the situation in the West Bank and the old city of Jerusalem would deteriorate quickly; raising questions among Palestinians and Israelis alike whether a third intifada was in the making. 

Daily provocations of worshippers in Al-Aqsa Mosque by radical Jewish settlers and right-wing Israeli officials have been going on for months even when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assured the world that his government was not about to change the status of Muslim shrines in the Noble Sanctuary. In response to these provocations Palestinians rallied to defend the mosque and clashed with Israeli soldiers who used brutal force to quell them. It was a matter of time before violence erupted and people were killed on both sides. And as if Netanyahu wanted things to boil over he resorted to collective punishment; banning Palestinians from entering the holy city for two days and ordering his troops to use whatever means to confront what he called “Palestinians terrorism.”

The stage is set for a new intifada, whether Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and Netanyahu wanted it or not. On the ground the ingredients for a new uprising are there; economic stagnation, political deadlock and public despair. Under Netanyahu, the peace process is comatose while the most extreme government in Israel’s history is pushing through with plans to empty East Jerusalem of its Arab residents and partition the West Bank by building walls, highways and fattening settlements. It is an understatement to say that the two-state solution is dead. In the absence of an effective US role, Netanyahu is changing the status quo of both East Jerusalem and what remains of the West Bank. And why not? There is no one to stop him....

Megan Kelly showed a video this evening about a woman screaming for her life. She was absolutely terrified when she was confronted by a police officer. 

The person taking he video was outside the circumstances. The video was aired and all charges dropped. I think Ms. Kelly wants people safe from police that have no right to victimize innocent people, especially when the infraction was a minor issue that most Caucasians are terrified of.

None of those words are a FUNCTION OF GOVERNMENT.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the House majority leader, who has been considered the leading candidate to succeed Speaker John Boehner. “Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?” McCarthy says, in a clip from Fox News Channel. “But we put together a Benghazi special committee. What are her numbers today?”

Rep. McCarthy states he misspoke. ?????? There isn't anything he can say that doesn't implicate him in shining on the GOP with their talking points. What can he possibly say? Okay, let's just say he misspoke. Rephrase it. There is no function of government that can rephrase those words. The government watches her approval numbers? Really?

Rep. McCarthy, there were over 45 votes taken on the Affordable Care Act. Have a reason for that too, because, I know for a fact no one misspoke during the voting.  

It is tough to swallow your pride.

I would encourage all the families to meet with President Obama. I hope the families and friends won't harden their hearts to President Obama's visit. There is much to be said and the exchange is important. 

I am wondering if President Obama will make a visit to the school and speak to those traumatized by the incident. 

Sheriff Hanlin is wrong. He has closed his mind to what may prove to help communities be protected from this level of violence and death.

Fox has to have a diversion from the catastrophic storm in North and  South Carolina. Whoever heard of a climate crisis?

The families of those murdered have a support system of families throughout the country. They should consider opening themselves up to the other families.

The sheriff (click here) of the Oregon county where 10 people were shot dead at a community college claimed that gun controls would not prevent “heinous crimes like school shootings” in a letter to US Vice-President Joe Biden two years ago.

John Hanlin, sheriff of Douglas County, also said in the letter that he would refuse to enforce gun laws that he considered to be unconstitutional and said he would not allow federal officers to do so in the county.

At the time, gun-control campaigners were pressing for reform after the Sandy Hook school shooting in Connecticut in December 2012, in which 20 children and six children were shot dead by 20-year-old Adam Lanza, who also killed his mother and himself.

At least 10 people were killed and seven others were wounded when a gunman opened fire at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Douglas County, on Thursday. The shooter died during an exchange of fire with police. It was the 45^th shooting at a school in the US this year....

"The Independent" is stating this was the 45th school shooting in the USA taking the lives of 142 people.

Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum announced on Thursday afternoon that 10 people were killed and seven others wounded at Oregon's Umpqua Community College.

Five people were injured (click here) after being shot on a party bus traveling down Interstate 240 early New Year's Day.
Memphis police officers were called to the shooting in the area of I-240 and Poplar Avenue, where an SUV was reported to be shooting at a party bus around 3 a.m.
The party bus exited I-240 and drove to the Baptist East emergency room with five victims. Two people were in extremely critical condition.
Dale Westbrook and his friend, Marcus McKinney, rushed to Baptist Memorial Hospital after finding out their close friend was taken there. 
"He has been shot in the head due to a verbal argument, just crazy," said Westbrook....

It's the wild west in the USA. I would think state departments for other countries would list the danger to those that want to travel abroad. This Oregon shooting was a very small community where everyone knows each other and the man who shot his peers had collected 13 guns. There is no telling where the violence will break out. The country has absolutely no control over it. 

I don't think international visitors are allowed to bring or carry guns unless they are with another country's government. So, international travelers are sitting ducks. Travel at your own risk.

It is getting a little strange in the USA. Counting the dead from war is a good thing, but, counting the dead caused by police is not a good thing.

“One of the things we are focusing on at the Department of Justice is not trying to reach down from Washington and dictate to every local department how they should handle the minutia of record keeping, but we are stressing to them that these records must be kept,” she said at the Washington Ideas Forum, hosted by AtlanticLIVE and the Aspen Institute.
Lynch said the Justice Department does “encourage” local departments to maintain records on police shootings but that improving police-community relations is more important. She noted that the small size of the average police department could make record-keeping difficult....

Republican strategist Karl Rove (click here) said on “Fox News Sunday” the only way to stop gun-related violence, like the Wednesday massacre at Emmanuel African Methodist Church in Charleston S.C., was to repeal American citizens’ Second Amendment rights.

If Rove is saying there is no other way to legislate gun control is to repeal the second amendment because the Republicans will never vote for it; that is corruption.

The reason it is corruption is because the country has a problem which can be solved by gun control. The reason it is corruption is because Republicans vote to benefit their cronies/financiers. That is nothing but corruption. For every death of an American caused by gun violence, Rove can claim a piece of the cause.

According to Fox News it was the New York Times that published an article about Joe Biden's verbal statement about his son's dying wish.

I think the idea of the Clintons being a priority for Beau to defeat can be left out of the dialogue. I am sure every political family sees other political families as favorable or unfavorable, otherwise they would not run for office in opposition to anyone.

So, basically, to honor a dear son, Beau Biden, a man who put his life on the line for this country when joining the military; his father decided to reach into his own grief and express that reality which was theirs.

Then it is Vice President Biden's decision to make. I thank you for clarifying that issue. For me, I didn't know if the Vice President was wrongly burdened by obligation and I was concerned for him and any pressure he might feel.

It is his decision and it is a decision he is burdened with because of his son's love for the family and respect for his father. Thank you. I appreciate that. I didn't read any article in the NYTimes, nor did I think to look for one.

Well, the Hangman Committee is off on another tangent. In case the Benghazi Committee fails the donors to the Clinton Foundation are up for grabs.

"There must be involvement by the former Secretary inside the Foundation....and these are not small donations either....We can bring up Soros into it and capture the passion of both the left and right. The rich against the poor."

This is not a program. It is not infotainment. It is a chronic witch hunt which causes FOX no expenses except the TV time and personnel that are already hired with contracts. This is a free for all and trying to find something that sticks to the wall. The 'ideas' are to inspire yet another Congressional Committee investigation at the expense of the taxpayers.

This why the legislature is not able to get work done. We already know that 95 percent of Congressional members are spent fund raising. That leave 5 percent of their time for doing their jobs. BUT. The Congress can't get work done because everything is tied up in Committee for photo ops for their elections.

Fox is a predator on our democracy. If the government officials aren't seen on Fox to promote the agenda of the Fox audience no matter how toxic and third world it is. It is very safe to say, Fox causes hardship in the USA. 

The perfect loop. The Hangman Committee asks viewers to send in topics they want to talk about.

I have subject. I want a discussion on how the USA prison system has brought so many African Americans from it's neighborhoods to cells. That is my topic.  

Why does the United States of American NOT WORK for our minorities? And not only doesn't work for them, but, victimizes them while killing young men and imprisoning young women from prostitution and minor offenses of which either kills them or degrades their esteem into suicide?

Heck, Governor Haley, make the week a state holiday. I doubt the rest of the country would see it as a worthy holiday, but, the politics of South Carolina can even create a celebration for those dead after the storm.

Such a permission to own military style weapons established danger to federal officers when a warrant was attempted to be served and cows removed. All those people were not suffering from mental illness. They were exerting lawlessness. There is a difference.

I didn't mention that in order for the modern day USA port to work, it has to have transportation roads out of the ports. Currently, it is questionable South Carolina can do that.

Now, what is best for the USA, local economies or Wall Street paradigms of "bail out' failures?

Afghanistan has to govern without the sloppy influence of the USA military.

As the war of words between presidential candidates (click here) have only begun to blossom, I’ve already grown battle weary, anxious, and disheartened.
While critiquing the existing state of affairs in his essay “State of the Union” (The Nation, 1975), Gore Vidal shared the following observation: “There is only one party in the United States, the Property Party…and it has two right wings: Republican and Democrat.” Far from a mere witty turn of phrase, what Vidal alluded to was the not so inconspicuous trend of both camps gradually realigning themselves further “right” (conventional, constrained) on issues despite enthralling rhetoric that would suggest otherwise. Forty years later, his Cassandra dilemma regarding the abandonment of liberalism still rings true though its significance holds no sway over those deafened by partisan favoritism.
In my piece “Under the Microscope: Black Conservatives,” I clarify that, though I hold very progressive political views contra conservatism, I do not identify as a Democrat. Part of the reason is due to the fact that many Democrat officials—and thus the political platform they epitomize and endorse—simply don’t push for truly liberal-leaning policies that would catalyze radical change this nation so desperately needs....

I have looked up this problem on different sites and have used search engines but the resources available only give me decimals up to hundreds. I'd like to get it as close as I can. 

I work in the fire service and this information would be very helpful to me. 

Take the weight of water and the weight per square inch, then find the
surface area of the flooding and the rate of rainfall and that will be the
per minute of weight bearing limit of the dams. There is NO way of
constructing the way out of this. Not even the pumps in New Orleans can
keep up.

NASA needs to define this TYPE of storm and the ability to accurately predict 
them. I might add, there are cyclones all over the plant today and have been 
there though this episode of a climate crisis storm. This is a global dynamic. 
It is all heat driven.

Ports along the USA Coastline have to have an evacuation plan for any ships at dock and waiting port services. The prediction model has to come early enough to evacuate ports. The ports at South Carolina have to be evaluated on the ships and cargo and how they survived the storm. Basically, where do ships survive the storms best, at sea or at dock, until the WEEK long storm passes.

Israeli security forces (click here) have demolished the homes of two Palestinians behind lethal attacks on Israelis last year, and sealed off another, following prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s threat of “harsh” action amid sharply mounting unrest.
The acceleration of the controversial policy of house demolitions was one of a package of measures announced in recent days by Netanyahu to quell days of escalating violence between Palestinians and Israelis, amid mounting criticism of Netanyahu’s leadership.... 

Someone want to make bulldozers illegal in Israel and especially in Palestine!

I think the insincere Prime Minister of Israel got his answer. The reason Netanyahu offered a peace process at the UN is because Israel is embarking on a very cruel mission to return Israel with new borders to exclusivity of Hebrews.

Isn't that right?

See, the Prime Minister and his extremist coalition are scared. They are scared they will become obsolete in Israel. The younger generation of Palestinians are proposing a one state solution, BUT, Palestinians have to be given political rights.

Think about that a minute. I'm going to make coffee. 

Israel's old world leaders are scared if the Palestinians have political rights, including voting rights, they won't have THE power anymore. Agree? I certainly believe it is true. If Palestinians were allowed to vote in a one state solution, won't they be successful in ending the violence against their people? In my opinion, the first election with Palestinian voters will end the violence in Gaza.

Now, put that definitive reality at the UN podium and the speech given by Prime Minister Netanyahu. You better believe he wants a peace process, especially with floating borders and demanding settlers.

"Mika get out of the way." Really, Mr. Scarborough.

The minimum wage in New York City is $8.75. Enough said. The "naked lady economic syndrome" is a woman's issue as well as poverty. The 'character' costumes are not inexpensive. I think New York City needs to get it's act together than simply outlawing people from Times Square it deems disgusting. People pose with them and tip them. They can't be that disgusting.

...I look up and see Miley Cyrus on a video screen (click here), marching in a raunchy, high-cut leotard. I figure if she can be half-naked in Times Square, then I can, too.

“The weird thing is that this doesn’t feel that weird,” I say to my fellow painted lady, Amanda.
She nods. “It’s actually really fun!” she replies.
And it is.
Once painted, I’m off, waving a feather and asking people if they want a picture with me, feeling full of girl power.

No one ever asks how many money they make in one day. I wonder if it better than prostitution? The money and/or the far gentler day's work they have. Maybe, the painted ladies are actually safer in Times Square. And don't say there is no prostitution in NYC. That would be a lie.

They hand me a $20 bill. For less than one minute of work!

(It must have been beginner’s luck, since $20 is the biggest tip I received all day.)

Chris explains to me that it isn’t legal for topless women to demand a set price, but optional tipping is allowed....

No there is no racism in the USA. That part of history is all over now.

A Texas mom shocked (click here) that her son’s textbook merely called African slaves “workers” is thrilled that publisher McGraw-Hill has promised revisions. But changing a single caption is hardly enough to combat what some educational experts call a wave of ideologically-fueled school standards that downplay the role of race and slavery in shaping America today.

Roni Dean-Burren was horrified when her son sent her a snapchat of his McGraw-Hill World Geography textbook, an edition created especially for Texas’ new state standards adopted in 2010. Opening up to a graphic titled “Patterns of Immigration,” he snapped a photo of the map’s caption. The caption reads: 
The Atlantic Slave Trade between the 1500s and the 1800s brought millions of workers from Africa to the southern United States to work on agricultural plantations.
Examining his book more closely, Ms. Dean-Burren realized that although European indentured servants are described as working for “little or no pay,” there was no further mention of black slaves; their presence is simply portrayed as part of “immigration.”
“Erasure is real y’all!!! Teach your children the truth!!!” she commented alongside a video of the textbook, which has already been viewed more than 1.6 million times on Facebook.
