The tornado pulled water out of the ground into underground shelters where people believed they were safe.

There needs to be evacuation routes with streets widened and dedicated to one way traffic in a moment's notice. The schools need evacuation vans parked immediately outside of exit doors.

The vortex is reconnecting with water vapor from the Equator. Water vapor is fuel.

The areas I would expect some kind of hurricane formation, the air masses are moving to fast.

It is noteworthy to realize this tornado was not shrouded in rain. It was autonomous and not connected to a tropical water vapor system. Yesterday the tornadoes were all shrouded with rain and the connection to the equatorial water vapor was intact at the time of the tornadoes. I believe this tornado was far more powerful than yesterday because the heat was concentrated in less water vapor driving the velocities higher.

There was far less oscillation with the vortex system today without a larger system to support the heat concentration.

This is the Climate Crisis. This is human induced global warming. There are new dynamics with vortexes. These are not necessarily the same dynamic of midlatitude cyclones from the decades past.

...Being close to a tornado (click here) is one of those incredible, fleeting moments that sometimes you have to take a couple of seconds to take in.
You can see in detail the tornado, the wind flow; you can actually hear it. And the sounds are different. If [the tornado is] in an open field, it sounds like a waterfall. If it's in a populated area, it becomes more of a thundering sound.
And then actually even the smell of tornadoes—if you're in the right place, you get a strong odor of fresh-cut grass, or occasionally, if it's destroyed a house, natural gas. Sometimes you get that raw earth smell, similar to if you run a bulldozer over open land....

There cannot be any more sources of carbon dioxide as energy sources in the USA. This isn't resolving. To think for one minute there is any reason to believe the USA can continue to emit CO2 in the face of increasing and unrelenting danger is nothing but foolishness and disregard of human life.

That statement has nothing to do with politics, it is an affirmation of life.
Currently in the US House is debate on "The Stolen Valor Act." (click here for C-Span)

Senator Grassley is hard at work speaking about the Immigration and Border Security Bill (click here for C-Span 3)

Border Security. Really? Aren't there National Guard on the Border at the moment.

And in Senate Session the Democrats are still trying to get nominations concluded. (click here for C-Span 2)

And on C-Span Radio the Right Wing is still complaining about the IRS (click here)

Hang in there everyone I am sure they are coming any day now. There is currently four states involved in emergency announcements regarding this storm.

It makes sense mph winds would reach 300 in a tornado where a hurricane cannot sustain those winds because of 'surface area.' The concentration of heat to a small footprint would provide higher wind velocities.

I take is Congress is in emergency session regarding the Climate Crisis.

According to the Oklahoma Governor there are people within this storm that have no idea there are emergency conditions because the electricity is out from yesterday's storms. It is called the National Guard. The National Guard should have been in place for three days already. The reason the Texas authorities shut down access to residents in collapse was to prevent looting. Hello?

The best the government can do is watch the entire mess like deer in the headlights. God forbid they recognize a Climate Crisis.

What is interesting about some of this is that even at $64,000 per capita it never gets to 10

Income inequality and disparity in wealth distribution is real. The fewer that have money, the fewer will continue to have money.

Human Beings always want more, they never want less. It is the one sincere characteristic humans have they don't share with the rest of the biotic world. Even the most vicious predators stop eating when they have had enough and fed their pride.

There is a lot of nuance in the Obama Administration. The nation isn't used to that. The people of the country aren't used to a President that actually thinks and has a command of the language.

In the case of Benghazi there has been criticism about statements that are being characterized as double speak. President Obama stated the Benghazi attack was an act of terror. He didn't say it was a Premeditated Terrorist Attack because at the time no one knew what was involved. It was obviously an act of terror, but, the perpetrators were yet unknown and whether it was premeditated. But, evidently it is too much of a reach for the Press to understand the difference.

President Obama would have been aware of what the CIA was saying about the Talking Points, but, he would not have been involved in writing them. Just in case the US House is still looking for High Crimes and Misdemeanors.

The White House Council was notified in late April about the IRS, but, the President hadn't been included in those talks. It wasn't to that point yet because there was an ongoing investigation and President Obama is precluded from involvement in any investigation. It would be conclusion. It is an ethical issue.

It is my impression Congressman Issa knew about the IRS issue before the public or the President was aware. Evidently, Treasury was involved in the investigation and not conclusions were drawn at that time. Issa would know because I am sure he was receiving complaints.

Evidently, ABC has apologized for the Talking Points memo. Well, Ambassador Rice didn't make to Secretary of State now did she. I would think there is some liability by ABC, but, Rice will take on the chin. She shouldn't, but, she will.

Evidently, Jonathan Carl authored this mess. He needs to come forward with the liar. I would consider that payment for the liability against the American people. We suffered, too. We don't have Ambassador Rice as a Secretary of State. Don't get me wrong, I think Secretary Kerry is magnificent, but, that isn't the point. The point is an African American woman was more than qualified. She had ambitions that were trashed by a major news agency. The American people have a grievance and while an apology is a good beginning, we need to know whom the liar was that maligned Ambassador Rice's good name.

I understand Jonathan Carl's source is a Republican Congressman. Perhaps it is the same one that outed a CIA agent involved with a Yemen cell to save lives at the Olympics. Evidently, the White House Press Secretary was correct when he stated Republicans fabricated the emails.

Oh, unfettered access is a worry for the Press. The meaning hasn't changed, that should be a point of solace. Unfettered doesn't include classified information that insure national security of any country or the safety of citizens. I am fairly confident that has always been the meaning of unfettered when it comes to the Press. The Press simply needs to follow their own ethical and professional standards and they should be fine.

Unfettered is the same today as a month ago or a year ago or a decade ago.

President Obama is not under siege or in a bubble or removed from the people or insulated by his staff. He isn't any of those ugly things people are saying these days. He is carrying out the responsibilities of his job. Maybe the Press needs to read his job description, I am quite sure he has.

I am grateful for AG Holder. I think he is doing a great job.

President Obama is a fascinating tribute to American Exceptionalism. We all should be extremely proud of him. He will be considered one of the greatest presidents of this country.

It is my most profound hope President Obama continues to hold the Middle Class and Poor in the palm of his hand. It is good thing.

The new National Debt is not 2.5% of GDP rather than 4%. There are complaints that will only be for the next ten years and there should be more restraint in spending. I don't think so. If we spend well, the 2.5 won't end in ten years.

Oh, by the way, I think Senator Warren's suggestions have merit. You see the student loan interest rate is about making all students carry the burden for those that couldn't. That is Un-American. We need to change that paradigm before July. Appreciate it.

Have a better week.

Senator Paul should start running for President, it might compel him to get serious about his job.

Rand Paul is riding the Benghazi tragedy into glory.

Imprisonment

Prosecution

Oh, I suppose, but, it would have to begin and end with Mr. Hicks. See, I think when former Secretary Clinton stated, "What difference does it make, it was somewhat to protect the long lived employees of the State Department, including Mr. Hicks. But, Mr. Paul wants to elevate Mr. Hicks as a neglected hero. He sent the USA military soldiers back and only kept a few sharp shooters in Tripoli.

I don't know why Senator Paul can't get his mind around that, but, he is unable to.

"Tripoli needs to be treated as Baghdad."

I don't think so. The Libyans don't want Westerners in their country. They are content with their new found freedoms. They decided The West is a lot of trouble. Their point of view is that they don't need any other influences in their country that does not emanate from within their own understanding of life.

I watched Anthony Bourdain tonight. That is why I postponed these posting. It was more than interesting. The people of Libya are basically happy. They don't want a central government. They are afraid of a central government.

When the militias were formed it was by average people. That is not unusual for these countries. When Iraq was invaded by H.W. Bush the Iraqi military was never an organized military. Some served in their everyday clothes.

The Libyan people have no interest in pretending they want to be friends with the West. They are afraid of us.

The Libyans don't have the problems that Iraqi people are having. They are mostly chilled about things. It might be the lull before the storm, but, it sincerely isn't our business.

Senator Paul wanted Hillary Clinton to resign as Les Aspin did over "Black Hawk Down." Black Hawk Down is a movie, the name of the Mogadishu mission is called, "The Battle for Mogadishu." Just thought I'd point that out if he intends to be taken seriously.

I realize Senator Paul believes in 'Falling on his sword' but that does not make for good policy necessarily. He made most of his criticisms of the former Secretary of State while on the political stump in Iowa and New Hampshire. There are many reasons why I don't take him seriously.

Senator Paul also has strange verbiage about the IRS problem. He believes it was a Rouge IRS agent that started this with a memo he is now demanding has to exist. He then states, if these are the same people that are writing the IRS regulations for Obamacare it will be a disaster.

Maybe.

But, the first year the fine is less than $100.00 and it only requires one line on any tax return. I think they're up to it.

The biggest mess in rolling out The Affordable Care Act is that states didn't even try to form their own Insurance Exchanges due to lazy Governors.

"The Culture of Intimidation"

The Anti-Government King states he is worried about intimidation.

Mitch McConnell know more about intimidation than any man in Congress. He leads a 60 vote majority on every issue before the Senate. Tell me that is not intimidation.

Veterans needs to know their benefits are hanging in the balance with Senator's McConnell opposing any return of spending to the Veteran's Administration.

While writing Mr. McConnell to provide him a reason to change his mind, you might want to ask him if he believes in national security as well.

Mitch McConnell Openly Filibusters Sequestration Replacement Bill (click here)

February 28, 2013
A somewhat technical but very important exchange took place on the Senate floor late Thursday morning, which you can file away for the next time you hear Republicans tut-tut Senate Democrats for not passing a sequestration replacement bill.
Later today, the Senate will vote on whether to consider two sequestration replacement bills. Both will be set at a 60-vote threshold. One — the Democrats’ bill — would replace about a year’s worth of sequestration cuts with some better-targeted cuts to defense and agriculture and also with new revenue, largely by imposing the Buffett Rule, which imposes a minimum effective tax rate on millionaires.
The GOP bill would preserve sequestration’s overall spending cap but hand authority for allocating the cuts to the Obama administration — a clever idea that also shields Republicans from blame when the cuts hit....
The Veterans Administration places that figure at 23.532 million individuals on 30 September 2007.

According to the 2010 American Community Survey, the year of the last census, there were 21.8 million veterans living in the United States.

This is good news. There is an answer.

69.2% of fibers consumed in 2012 were manmade fibers.

These fibers include carpeting. There is an enormous disposal of carpeting annually in most countries.

The building collapse in Bangladesh is their Bopal.

The parties involved in enslaving the people of Bangladesh need to be sued for the deaths and harm they caused here.

It was the government of India that sued on behalf of the people of Bopal. I strongly suggest the country of Bangladesh do the very same thing. The poor people of Bangladesh does not have the resources to sue, that is why they are enslaved. They have no resources to improve their conditions.

Bangladesh Factory Safety Accord: At least 14 major North American retailers decline to sign (click here)

May 17, 2013

...Major European retailers -- for example, Marks & Spencer and Carrefour -- have joined the agreement. Others who've signed on include companies recently involved with factory disasters in Bangladesh, such as Swedish retailer H&M and Italian fashion house Benetton. A 2010 factory fire at a facility that made cardigans for H&M killed 21 people, and Bennetton had a supplier in the Rana Plaza factory that collapsed last month, killing more than 1,100 people.
PVH, parent to Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, signed the accord, along with Abercrombie & Fitch, which agreed just hours before the deadline. That leaves plenty of U.S. retailers absent from the agreement, according to the Worker Rights Consortium, an international labor monitoring group. However, some retailers, like Walmart, claim they are working on separate initiatives to improve conditions and workplace safety in Bangladesh.
Here are 14 North American retailers manufacturing goods in Bangladesh that have not signed the safety accord:...

North Korea launched another short-range projectile on Sunday, just a day after they launched three similar objects
The projectile landed away from neighboring countries in the sea off North Korea's east coast.
As The New York Times explains, South Korean officials moved away from calling the objects missiles, as they did yesterday. Today, they used the word "short-range projectiles," because "hey may have included not only the modified KN-02 short-range guided missile but also rockets from its new multiple launcher."...

Oh, good, a new Somali Lord. Anything for ransom.

Attempting to sell Gas Fracking to the American people their technology god needs to visit China.

It is becoming more and more 'us and them.' The political Right Wing can't stand the progress the USA is making on many fronts and alternative energies is one of them. Now, the NY Times wants to demonize the movement to stop the very dangerous technologies involved with hydraulic fracturing.

In Gas-Drillling Fight, Opposites Attract and Distract (click here)
April 24, 2013
by Andrew Revkin
There are passionate and well-meaning people arrayed all around the issues surrounding America’s enormous shale-gas resource and the communities on the surface above it. I’ve met landowners and residents and scientists in Pennsylvania and upstate New York with powerfully articulated positions against and for drilling using hydraulic fracturing, or fracking.

And then there are the filmmakers. First there was Josh Fox, who rose to prominence in 2010 with “Gasland,” a potent attack on fracking, and who unveiled “Gasland Part Two” at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday (read an IndieWire interview and film review)....

The USA Energy Department states China shale gas reserves are 50% larger than USA, so the petroleum industry is pushing every possible attack on the immorality of gas extraction through destruction of land and pollution of water and air. There are huge methane emissions from fracking wells.

January 17, 2013, 9:00 pm
I describe my recent posts (click here) on ways to identify gas leaks or prove — one way or the other — if water contamination came from a particular well. We talked about big impediments to the development of China’s huge shale gas reservesor increasing exports of liquefied natural gas to Asia. I also stressed that President Obama’s “all of the above” energy strategy could be disrupted by cheap gas — without an overarching energy policy to sustain investments advancing the next generation of non-polluting energy technologies.

Don't ask me what kind of moral or ethical content the NY Times practices anymore, but, it isn't anything environmentally respectable.

It is a joke to believe China needs help with energy. They will not replace coal. China struggles with finding energy for over one billion people. China never eliminates any energy source. It is why blaming China for the Climate Crisis is hideous. China is still a third world country in many ways.

Over the decades China has diligently built all kinds of alternative energies, often against Western advise. The Three Gorges dam is a huge project and there are always worries, but, it was one of the most intense movement of Chinese citizens from impoverishment along the rivers to apartments built by the state.

China has vast fields of wind turbines already. It has significant areas of protected lands, some temperate rainforests. But, with over one billion people it is sometimes difficult for provincial authority to stop migration into the forests.

China will never end it's coal mining or seek to stop it's imports from North Korea. China's population demands as much energy as it currently uses and then some.

The idea China needs fracking in a country plagued with extremely dangerous and frequent earthquakes is crazy. Plain and simple crazy.
On Sunday I posted a 140-character Twitter item (click here) containing four links that sketch humanity’s urban pollution challenges and opportunities over the last 60 years. (Link shortening is one of many reasons 140 characters can matter)....

The air quality in China is very bad, especially on days with temperature inversion. No one more than I wants Clean Air for every person in the world. But, Air Quality is not the same as energy needs. Air Quality is smoke stakes. Air Quality is about emissions. CO2 is an emissions problem. So, China needs to address their emissions along with their thirst for energy. That is the issue. Telling the Chinese if they SWITCH to hydraulic fracturing for gas will answer there air quality problems is a lie given that China will never stop using coal. There is no electorate to bring about change in China.

This is the kind of activism I understand. It is called involvement.

All the Talk Shows state they are involved in opposing the government by talking about it. The Talk Shows don't walk the walk, they only talk the talk. There are no Talk Shows either Righty or Lefty involved in a lawsuit regarding the NDAA, but, at least those with sincere commitment did.
