There are high rates of recidivism among the poor. It is obvious why. It is financial and loyalty to religion as the sacrifice of self.

Grimilda Figueroa was also a pretty lady. That didn't safe her from violence either.
Prevalence of Domestic Violence
  • In a 1995-1996 study conducted in the 50 States and the District of Columbia, nearly 25% of women and 7.6% of men were raped and/or physically assaulted by a current or former spouse, cohabiting partner, or dating partner/acquaintance at some time in their lifetime (based on survey of 16,000 participants, equally male and female).

  • In 2000, 1,247 women and 440 men were killed by an intimate partner. In recent years, an intimate partner killed approximately 33% of female murder victims and 4% of male murder victims.
Callie Marie Rennison, U.S. Dep't of Just., NCJ 197838, Bureau of Justice Statistics Crime Data Brief: Intimate Partner Violence, 1993-2001, at 1 (2003), available athttp://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/pub/pdf/ipv01.pdf
  • Access to firearms yields a more than five-fold increase in risk of intimate partner homicide when considering other factors of abuse, according to a recent study, suggesting that abusers who possess guns tend to inflict the most severe abuse on their partners.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, between 1998 and 2002:
  • Of the almost 3.5 million violent crimes committed against family members, 49% of these were crimes against spouses.
  • 84% of spouse abuse victims were females, and 86% of victims of dating partner abuse at were female.
  • Males were 83% of spouse murderers and 75% of dating partner murderers
  • 50% of offenders in state prison for spousal abuse had killed their victims. Wives were more likely than husbands to be killed by their spouses: wives were about half of all spouses in the population in 2002, but 81% of all persons killed by their spouse.

Charles Ramsey is a hero. There is no question about that.

There was criticism about his articulation. Really? Who articulate anything about that mess? Seriously. There are no words to describe the imprisonment of those women.

"How the door is."  Exactly.

"How the man is."  Exactly.

I was impressed by the kind and gentle nature of Mr. Ramsey. He was also very polite. He never ventured into off color language. He was rather intelligent actually. I doubt he was a internet computer whiz either.

One other thing about the statements surrounding this community was the realization they are interacting a great deal with McDonalds. I remember when the 'Food Desert' was being discussed in this country how it was noted there were poor communities where fast food restaurants dominated food choices. There are many references to McDonalds in the dialogue of the community in regard to this issue. It's true. There are food deserts in the USA. One exists right here.

There were concerns about activity in the neighborhood, but, no different than any other poor community there are varied opinions of police. The police were definitely involved with the community all these years. But, with the lack of success they were finding even with law enforcement involvement it didn't lead to greater confidence in the police, but, hopelessness instead. All that matters. When a community has profound problems and have their beautiful women disappearing repeatedly, they become cloistered. The community seeks their own solutions. I don't blame them for being skeptical about authority. As much as they want to have their problems solved within the infrastructure available to them, they remain traumatized with feelings of abandonment.

This tragedy is profound. Three beautiful women disappeared and were brutalized for years. A decade to be exact. The community has to recover as well.

There is a void between the community and the police. It is a cultural void. When the police responded to reports of banging on the door to the house in question in 2011 they saw a boarded up house without anyone to answer the front door. They spent 20 minutes trying to assess what might be the fact and not simply a misguided report.

The community understands their own reality. Social anthropologists would help create a better understanding of the communities challenged with unreasonable odds. Anthropologists with credentials could be witnesses to city and state governments to seek to resolve the deficits these communities have to move THEM forward. It's cultural. Definitely. It is not the fault of the police, it is a huge void of empowerment within the community.

I look at it this way. The void is where the danger lies to responding police to communities. It is where crime hides, obviously. But, the real danger is the ability of very dangerous people to hide in our cities. That void. Has the capacity to cause problems society believes are impossible to understand, yet alone find.

Think about it. Could those interested in sincere damage to our country find a hiding place among kind and gentle men such as Mr. Ramsey?
The House hearing is still going on?

Wow.

The entire area was under investigation to the security needs for the security information for the Benghazi compound. Ambassador Stevens was given a due date of September 30th to complete the needed information.  We know for a fact the CIA was involved in the area. The security picture to the Benghazi compound was not known on September 11, 2012. That is not an excuse, it was a fact.

The reason no deployments were made was because of the UNKNOWNS. The USA doesn't send in assets to be slaughtered. They send in assets based on what it knows. To realize the volatility occurring in Benghazi and to send more personnel would have been imprudent and it saved lives. That is a fact. Lives were saved and the losses minimized because additional personnel were not sent. It is a cruel truth no one wants to state. It is that cruel truth we all have to live with. It is that cruel truth being exploited by political interests.

Chris Stevens and the other three died because they were going to be casualties. The USA had no options to realistically stop that. It is a magnificent country, but, it also has voids of authority and this is one of them.

Every person in this nation apologizes to the families and friends of the people lost. It was a horrible set of circumstances. I wish Ambassador Stevens had not felt so strongly about the greater potential for safety in Benghazi. We, as a nation, can ask the foreign service to take every precaution possible before they venture forth into unknown capacity of the elusive relationships they hope to build between countries, but, the facts are very different than wishes when these wonderfully talented people carry out their responsibility.

To be very frank, FOX News promulgated this entire impetus to hearings by victimizing families. Now, if one wants to state the use of innocent people as human shields as despicable, we can start with the use of these families by FOX News.

Literally, I remember an interview between a woman at FOX and Darryl Issa regarding the importance of the families and he actually relinquished to her understanding and said 'Of course, we can have hearing to clear up the understanding of the cause of these murderers.' That is when all this disaster of seeking detail beyond detail began. It has nothing to do with USA policy or competency. There is no micromanaging an Ambassador or his activities by anyone. The State Department Personnel are wonderfully qualified people and don't need micromanaging. That is understood in the job description.

So, for the families at the hearing today, FOX News needs to apologize to them for creating circumstances none bargained for after the deaths of their loved ones. The deaths were horrible, unexpected and a heartache to this nation. Chris Stevens was more valuable to the USA than anyone can say. He is no longer there. That is a loss the USA cannot repeat and that is why the Blue Ribbon Panel was convened. The Blue Ribbon Panel was not about making people feel good about their losses, it was to protect the people of our State Department who protect this country and promote policy of peace and democracy.

I apologize to the families. My heart aches, too. It was horrible and there is no taking it back. I wish we all could turn back the clocks, but, we can't. Chris Stevens and all those that died at the hand of extremists in Libya will never be forgotten and I take solace in knowing the government took these losses with brevity and honored them with facts and intention to change a wayward set of circumstances to prevent such tragedies again.

The government needs to value their foreign service enough to provide funding for all the recommendations made and to provide the fortresses needed for embassies globally.

I wish all peace.

They are all exposed now in a way they weren't before. This is a political hearing.

Not only are there now names with faces, there is bragging rights about underground contacts that are more valuable than walls. Those contacts are now compromised. Good work, Chairman Issa.
11:00 a.m. EST (click here)
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform will hear testimony from three witness Wednesday morning.
The hearing, led by Republican Chairman Darrell Issa, is titled “Benghazi: Exposing Failure and Recognizing Courage.” It begins at 11:30 a.m. EST. The three witnesses who will appear are:

Mark Thompson, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism, U.S. Department of State

Gregory Hicks, Foreign Service Officer and former Deputy Chief of Mission/Chargé d’Affairs in Libya, U.S. Department of State

Eric Nordstrom, Diplomatic Security Officer and former Regional Security Officer in Libya, U.S. Department of State

The availability of military to any mission in Libya was a KNOWN commodity. This is not new. The entire mission knew there was no military support in Libya. That was known before September 11, 2012. This should not have been a surprise to anyone, especially a Regional Security Officer.

Basically, the assessment of the RSOs was more a dreamscape then a reality. So much of foreign service relies on the host government there is no way there was known capacity at the time of the Ambassador's stay in Libya. The USA does not deploy military assets to every nation where missions exist. Libya was a known dangerous nation with a high level of instability. The capacity to respond to an attack was already known.

The RSOs are sincerely upset over the outcome and I don't doubt there are many regrets, but, at the same time what was humanly possible to protect the Ambassador and his staff? Everything that was possible was being done. Short of an invasion into the country there was no way of absolutely securing the protections of the mission outside of Tripoli.

The testimonies today may compromise the careers of these people so the GOP can benefit their vicious political arguments. I feel back for those testifying today. I don't believe they thought this through.

We know as a nation, even with a deployment of military assets as in Afghanistan securing personnel of any variety is extremely difficult. The GOP should recall the explosions surrounding Cheney's visit to Afghanistan, if they can't or won't recall any of the others. The ability to 'guarantee' is not a part of the reality of foreign service outside of Hollywood.

Representative Gowdy, from the 4th Congressional District in South Carolina, is well invested as a political symbiote uninterested in the truth so much as semantics.

Speaker Boner, "I don't think we have gotten to the bottom...." He should take pride in knowing I sincerely believe we have gotten to the bottom of the GOP barrel.

Gowen, "How did they know they could not have made it there?..."

For real? That is one bright man and FOX News interviewer. I think that question could have been met with a question by the FOX Blond Bombshell, "Do you know anything about ground speed, sir?"

The House Speaker is turning loose the power of elected office for a witch hunt based on populism. That is not competent practice.

Well, there is a good call by Issa, "Can we please see any documents at or before the testimony that is not already in the record." Ya think?

This may be just a personal favorite, although it seems to be a issue of procedure with Representative Cummings, "I would have preferred the documents have been submitted yesterday."
1:08 pm

Rep. Jason Chaffetz asks Hicks where the special forces stand down order came from. Hicks says he believes the order came from AFRICOM (United States Africa Command)

Rep. Norton established with Mr. Thompson no one was playing politics with any counter-terrorism measure in regard to Benghazi.

There are very sound reasons why AFRICOM would have any deployment from Tripoli to Benghazi stand down. If this was a larger plot and there was an attack on the Tripoli mission any deployment would leave the primary consulate short staffed with a very good chance any deployment would be killed on their way to Benghazi. The criticism is 'after the fact' knowing NOW this was an isolated incident.

Republican Rep. James Lankford asks the witnesses whether the security provided to the diplomatic facilities in Libya prior to the attack was adequate. They answer that it wasn’t.

Therefore what? Monies were suppose to be used from a closed facility in Iraq on the Benghazi mission. Okay, but, it was also stated that was under process. So, I am back to therefore what?

Mr. Thompson is at the hearing to state he didn't obstruct any information he may have for his country. He wasn't asked to testify. Fine. Thank you for that.

No one, I recall, was actually questioning the dedication of the foreign service, were they? I know no one in the administration every stated doubt to the dedication and loyalty of the members of the foreign service. You mean to tell me the GOP harassed these people enough to have them believe they were actually discrediting their capacity and willingness to be a part of a testimony? That is an ethics violation by the House leadership.

Rep. Jordan reiterated praise of Mr. Hicks by the administration and all of a sudden Beth Jones was offended by the criticism of Ambassador Rice. Even after Beth Jones stated, "I don't know" Mr. Hicks wasn't satisfied. Well, I suppose very member of the foreign service should have apologies from Ambassador Rice personally.

Okay, then. Ambassador Rice now knows her words offended at least Mr. Hicks. I suppose she could issue an apology if that were to prove prudent. Maybe in his Christmas Card.

Sorry, but, these hearings are Palace Intrigue and has no relevance to national security.

Hicks says Amb. Stevens went to Benghazi to convert it into a permanent diplomatic post at the request of Sec. Clinton. Clinton wanted a report on the political and security environment there before September 30, Hicks says.

That testimony contradicts the facts. We know there were explosions near the mission in Tripoli and Ambassdor Stevens stated it might be safer for him in Benghazi. It would seem as though Mr. Hicks is not appraised to all the details of the movement of Ambassador Stevens at the time he moved to Benghazi.

Ambassador Stevens may have been asked to submit an assessment about a Benghazi facility, but, in that there is no understanding the ambassador did not have control over his activities within the country.

Representative Clay is correct there were recommendations from the Blue Ribbon Panel to prevent these events in the future. Seeking to make those recommendations a matter of malpractice of the Secretary of State after the fact is abuse of power and here again unethical practice of the power of the House Seat.

This is a waste of my time and the time and money of the American people. Symbiotes rule, ya know?
Weapon found
( Mark Boster / Los Angeles Times / February 15, 2013 )A weapon was found on Friday, February 15, 2013, in the snow off Glass Road, near the spot where Christopher Dorner crashed a getaway car in Angelus Oaks.
This was a gun found at the resting place of Christopher Dorner. This not a police issued weapon. There is no surviving a gun designed to blow a hole in a human being. Is there any doubt this weapon was marketed with the reality it was about killing people? No, of course not, but it is marketed anyway.

Below is Appendix A of the Assault Weapons Ban Amendment. Appendix A lists the exemptions from the law. These are guns specifically named as legally for sale in the USA. The reason Senator Feinstein listed the guns specifically was to prevent any manipulation of the law to effect them. There is no reason for any gun owner or enthusiast to state the USA federal government is going to take the guns from their 'cold dead hands.' As a matter of fact this Amendment should be part of the bill rather than an amendment because it is so very specific to the protected status of these guns.

Elizabeth took the high road, she was defeated by the "Good Ole Boys."

By ALEX ISENSTADT | 5/7/13 6:58 PM EDT Updated: 5/8/13 6:27 AM EDT

Republican Mark Sanford (click here) has defeated Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch in South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District special election. The victory caps a dramatic comeback by the scandal-tinged former governor, whose political career was left for dead four years ago when he was caught lying about an extramarital affair....

Look the 1st Congressional District was vacated so that Sanford could fill it. He had a track record of winning the seat before. The Senate seat vacated by Jim DeMint was filled with a safe choice for Haley. Sanford needed a job. He couldn't run for Governor again, so this was his seat for income. It was going to happen no matter how much he had to grovel. The more he groveled the more the white male voter bought it.

Elizabeth ran an honest campaign whereby she offered a better alternative to the "Shame of Sanford."

South Carolina has an unemployment rate above the national average of 8.4%. South Carolina needs an infusion of new leadership, but, based on the values expressed in this election, it isn't going to happen. Why put the same party back into office when they caused the problem in the first place? But, yet it happens all the time. Ideology matters when there is nothing else left to value.

Harry, send it to reconciliation, we'll all be proud of you. Cruz is a bully, just listen to those numbers and the whining.

The NY Stock Exchange topped $15,000 yesterday and the unemployment rate is still stubborn; Cruz actually thinks he has a case for "Woe is me?" Cruz needs to get over himself. He won't even participate in a 50 vote majority, he and McConnell are bullies. They couldn't legislate even if they tried.

"Suspend the quorum call." There was no one the chamber. Does Cruz play by the rules? No, but he does recognize civility. Senator Reid is a icon of civility. No one can take that away from him. So, what's the point by Cruz? Ego? Sure. Oh, wait, the Senate Leader has an idea. The man wants to make the country Senate actually function. Is that the problem?

$1.7 Trillion in taxes that have gone into EFFECT in the past four years. That doesn't mean those taxes were passed in the past four years either. What I want to know is how much SPENDING in the past four years was a result of the previous eight.

With the national debt approaching $17 trillion doesn't Cruz think the USA Treasury needs more REVENUE. Cruz doesn't use the word REVENUE, he uses the word Taxes. Taxes are more personal then revenues through closing loopholes.

"It would be deeply irresponsible to raise the National Debt Ceiling yet again." I think most Americans agree on that in one form or another, what they know at the 'street level' that working three jobs helps make ends meet is their reality to CLOSING a debt. So, it is safe to say the USA has to close the space between debt and REVENUE.

"Real steps." Revenue is part of those REAL steps. It is a shame that such a young Senator with what might be a promising future actually does nothing more but toe the extremist line of deceit.

Cruz understands democracy. He understands that a simple majority can actually pass law into existence. He gets it, he simply doesn't think it is appropriate when he is in the minority. The Affordable Care Act was passed by a sixty vote majority that excluded a Public Option. Am I delusional? That really did happen. I remember.

"Protections of the minority." Where is that rule? McConnell and his chronic filibuster might be protections of the minority, but, the USA Constitution fairly clearly outlines a simple 51 vote majority. I don't recall the Constitutional Amendment stating "The Minority Rules!"

Harry, GO TO CONFERENCE, the nation needs REVENUE. Thank you!

Women like to talk. They like to connect. They may or may not believe the lies a man hands out depending on their idea of "He's cute."

The woman in every woman wants to feel valued and not used. They want to know a man sees them as a person with special qualities. They want to be appreciated and not chattel. That set of values are actually out of reach of the USA military? Really?

It's an opportunity for both of you to have your sexual needs met, remember your one night stand can't read your mind so use this as an opportunity to try new sexual activities you've fantasised about... you won't know if you don't ask."

State of Play
"Remember foreplay is important, even during a one night stand. Gentlemen, remember women need more stimulation to get revved up, passionate kissing, lots of touching and compliments are sure to boost her sexual confidence."

Picking up the Pieces
"Leave with ALL of your stuff. Gather everything up so you don't need to go back and pick up something you accidentally left behind."

No expectations, no disappointments
"Have zero expectations. Don't be upset if the experience is disappointing, dwell on an off night or fill your head with negative self-talk. If they sneak out before the crack of dawn or don't call the next day just remember you agreed at the outset that this was for one night only," she says.
So maybe Dr Cadell's advice won't prevent the raccoon eyes or the hammerhead hangover as you do the walk of shame home, but it might make it all the more fun.

Alcohol not required!
