Kicking the Environmental Can Down the Road through Mind Speak.

The quality of the Murdoch media empire to provide accurate, timely and vital information to their viewership is extremely poor and grossly neglected.

Charles Krauthammer insists the only way of immediately recovering the USA economy for the 99% is to "Drill, Babe, Drill" in every available spot in the fifty states.  Like, Wow.  Where has Krauthammer been when President Obama announced in a Joint Session of Congress a Jobs Bill paid for by closing tax loopholes and increasing revenue?

I've considered "USA Today" to be a conservative leaning newspaper on a fairly consistent basis.  They service nearly every hotel in the country and it is no surprise USA Today would be more conservative than not to assist those that would be reading it regularly, namely "The Business Traveler."  The point is that the Murdoch Media Empire is way out of step with its contemporaries.

Report: Climate change worsens extreme weather events

...The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, (click title to entry - thank you) obtained in draft form by USA TODAY, stresses that expanding cities and populations worldwide, also raise the odds of severe impacts from weather disasters.
"Unprecedented extreme weather and climate events" look likely in coming decades as a result of a changing climate, says the draft report. The final version was released early today by IPCC chief Rajendra Pachauri at a meeting hosted by report sponsors, the World Meteorological Organization and United Nations Environment Programme, in Kampala, Uganda....

The report by USA Today was updated within the past six hours.  Where is everyone else in their reporting of such a vital, comprehensive, diligent and EXPERT set of documents?  Absent?  Is every news agency in the USA too busy being UNLEARNED to actually pursue the higher values of life?

I don't consider the IPCC, the World Meterorlogical Organization or the United Nations Environment Programme to be a minor set of professionals.  They have something to say, it is vital to the well being of human beings on Earth and they get ignored?

Really?

How far does negligence of the Climate Crisis go before the PRIVILEDGED actually begin to be concerned for their own well being?  Sometime ago, ten thousand people FRIED in France due to unexpected climate change in a huge event.  I thought for sure the global community would 'take notice' that severe consequences exist and there must be something done about it.  Did that occur?  Not in any significant way.  Perhaps in France, but, France did not bring its hardship on itself by itself.  I find the media services that have survived to date grossly incapable of being moral and protecting lives.

"Total Recall" - Scott Walker is not a critical thinker.

To begin with, the use of "ALEC" is not a demonstration of the ability to be a legislator.

But, beyond "ALEC" the governments of the USA are a representative democracy.  That means there is one legislator for every person in the electorate.  As demonstrated in the elections of 2008, the electorate was treated as ignorant morons that can have their votes manipulated by dense spending on ad campaigns.  So, the people electing their 'limited' number of representatives to the Wisconsin legislature and the one governorship have the right to demand a recall based on the very, very corrupt intent of those elections by those elected.

Additionally, immediately upon election the governor and state legislature dominated by Republicans began their own agenda which did not inclue the 'will of the people.'  It included the will of the plutocrats.  We know there are only 1% of the populous of any state, with the exception of New York, which comprises the plutocrats.  That means the 99% of the Wisconsin electorate were CONNED into believing the Walker administration with a majority Repubican state legislature would actually represent them.   Perhaps the governor and the state legislature noted the 99% in protests across the nation; that should tell people something.

Governor Walker and the Republican legislature can be recalled when they demonstrate their inability to actually governor to the benevolence of the people.  I am not surprised he doesn't 'get it.'

The epitome of Crony Capitalism.

Congress should support, not block healthier school lunch (click title to entry - thank you)

When Mom said eat your vegetables, she wasn't talking about pizza sauce. But Congress ain't Mom.

The final versions of the House and Senate's agriculture spending bills, released Monday, would
block improvements to nutritional standards for school lunch that were proposed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Among the blocked recommendations: New limits on sodium and starchy foods such as french fries and potato chips, and a move to increase the amount of pizza sauce, which counts as a vegetable, to a half-cup from its current pathetic standard – the schmear covering one slice.
If you're surprised by Congress' move, check out this recent "60 Minutes" interview with former lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

It helps explain how the
$5.6 million spent by food industry lobbyists to fight the improved standards could have done the trick convincing Congress to turn down these common sense fixes, backed by everyone from health experts to military officials....
Will Jack Abramoff become one of the best educators of the American electorate?  One can only hope he can actually perform a public service that changes the seats in Congress to productive members interested in Americans and not money.
